Check out some of the best scorers from this season from the 1A schools below.
Albright continues to lead Chatham Central to new heights as they only dropped three games in the entire season, with Albright averaging a whopping 22.9 PPG on 56% shooting from the field. He’s a scrappy guy who plays hard, knows how to get to his spots, and knock down jumpers from inside and outside the arc. Should be able to help CC to a deep state championship run with his ability to outwit defenses all the time.
Highlights
Ridgill has had a massive senior season jump for Chatham Charter with the departure of many seniors from a successful team last year, and is showing why he can score with averages of 19.4 PPG and 10 RPG. He’s very effective out of the post, with good touch and finishing ability over smaller defenders, especially with his 6’5, 185 pound frame. He’s the go to guy inside and has shown it, with back to the basket and face up scoring.

Morgan has become an electrifying senior stockriser, putting together a great season of play and racking up multiple JuCo offers during the year. His ability to score efficiently as the focal point of his Queens Grant team has been impressive, with efficiency from the field. He’s also made 48 threes over the course of the year, taking tough shots and showing he can make some of those. He should have a final opportunity to prove himself to coaches in the conference tournament if not the state tournament next week.
Ryan is another 1A standout from the Charlotte metro area as he is averaging just under 20 PPG over the course of the season. While competing against good competition in their conference, he’s been able to stay efficient while taking tough shots a lot of the time. His 6’1 frame looks bigger on film and in person because of his length and how he can exploit smaller defenders with his physicality and size.
Highlights
Jones is one of the top scorers in the class and the area as only a freshman, setting him up for potentially a big high school career to come. He averaged 21.3 PPG on 53% shooting from the floor, operating around the rim and the painted area for most of the season. Also has shown he can shoot the three ball a bit, but will need developing and more open CnS opportunities in order to increase his percentage.
