6’4 Crew Flowers Crew Flowers 6’3″ | PG Fort Worth Southwest Christian | 2024 State TX was fresh face for me this week as I got to catch him in a huge rivalry matchup in Tapps. His size and length first stuck out before I even seen him dribble and I knew if he was playing guard, he’d be a problem. He was just that finishing with over 20 Tuesday & 31 Friday night but most impressive with the way he controlled the pace of the game. Scorer first, he was able to step up when things got slow on the offensive end running in transition play after play. His conditioning was top notch and you can see the frustration growing each time he got to the basket finishing with a layup or getting fouled. He’s also quite the defender using his wingspan to pick your pocket and go the other way. Overall Crew was one of the most impressive 2024 prospects that remain uncommitted and should be worth a look for any coach.
2026 Marc Anthony Marc Anthony 6’6″ | SG Johnson | 2026 TX out of San Antonio who has been big on my radar since seeing him at the Prep Hoops camp last fall is in my top 25 2026’s which is a loaded class. At 6’6 he’s been steadily developing his “big guard” skills and he seems to be putting it together at the right time. He finished with a career high 30 last week and was absolutely dominate on both sides. His value defensively is just the same as his value offensively. He has a crazy wingspan and can run the floor like a small guard with a package of athletic finishes and dunks at the rim. He gives you a double digit rebounder and rim protector on the defensive side, also plays the passing lanes extremely well for someone his size. Look for Marc to jump up in the rankings as we get into his upperclassman campaign. Coaches, he’s a no brainer to take a look at NOW.
6’6 Jakeel Registe Jakeel Registe 6’5″ | SG Episcopal Bellaire | 2024 TX was impressive this week leading Houston Episcopal to the 4a SPC championship in a nail biter over Dallas St. Marks. Jakeel fits into the wing category and does most of his damage near the basket. Aggressive around the rim, he also has ELITE footwork that allows him to put up athletic shots. He was double team and face guarded most of the night but still couldn’t be contained finishing with 20 points. He was explosive catching several oops and overall provided the energy for Episcopal. He also is on force on the boards recorded double digits rebounding. Jakeel is tough prospect that will be a steal for someone at the next level next year. Make sure he’s on your radar.
6’5 2025 Mario Wooden Jr is actually long over due for a mention as he has balled out all 2024 with 20 point game after 20 point game in some big wins over ranked opponents for Panther Creek. Mario is effort guy, he scores most of buckets off pure effort and that’s something you just can’t teach. He fills up the stat column as well averaging around 7 rebounds and 5 assist for the year. Nice wingspan, deflects lots of passes and creates forced turnovers on the defensive side. Offensively he can run in transition and has no issues finishing strong at the rim or setting his teammates up for easy buckets. Mario is someone to keep close on your radar as I have a feeling he’ll be aiming to go out with a bang heading into his senior year.
Highlights
6’9 2024 Baron Smith Jr. Baron Smith Jr. 6’8″ | C Haltom | 2024 State TX has been one of the most dominate players this season that simply isn’t getting enough attention. At 6’9 he plays like he has a chip on his shoulder and can be overwhelming for many opponents in the post. Super mobile for his size, he actually has just as many transition buckets as he does in the half court setting. He uses a aggressive nature to snatch rebounds on both sides and create easy second chance opportunities for him and his teammates. He’s also a lefty which seems to give defensives problems when guarding him as well. Overall, he’s easily one of top unsigned seniors in his class and he’s worth a look for anyone from d1 to d2.
