Mario Wooden displayed good instincts paired with polished footwork, which he used to create out of stride stops and pivots. Coming downhill, he played off two feet well in traffic, giving him the leverage to use his length for finishes on either side of the rim, along with soft-touch floaters when defenders rotated late. His wingspan in the passing lanes turned deflections and steals into fastbreak opportunities that impacted the game tremendously.

is a long, athletic 6’6” wing who thrives in transition and defends with energy. He’s shown steady development as a shooter, now pairing that improvement with his natural ability to slash and finish above the rim. His recent Division I offer underscores his upside as a two-way contributor who plays with purpose. Wooden’s length, motor, and defensive range give him immediate rotational value at the next level.

Mario has a good touch near the rim and can convert well on floaters, layups and alley-oop finishes. He’s lengthy with quick hands and he gets a lot of deflections, steals, and blocks. Can play off the dribble and will isolate defenders where he can go score for himself or drive in to set his teammates up. He’s an unselfish player and is good at getting his teammates involved in the offense. He also plays well in transition spacing the floor or taking the ball coast to coast to score.

kept a low, balanced, and aggressive defensive stance as he sat down and defended the ball on the perimeter with the determination cut off driving angles and limit up jumpshots. He consistently ran his man off the three-point line or forced them to catch and handle the ball from a distance they weren’t comfortable scoring from. Incredible length and Impressive use of it, particularly on the ball or in the passing lanes where Wooden showed a knack for getting deflections, tips, and steals just by having his arms stretched wide or high above his head.

6’5 2025 Mario Wooden Jr is actually long over due for a mention as he has balled out all 2024 with 20 point game after 20 point game in some big wins over ranked opponents for Panther Creek. Mario is effort guy, he scores most of buckets off pure effort and that’s something you just can’t teach. He fills up the stat column as well averaging around 7 rebounds and 5 assist for the year. Nice wingspan, deflects lots of passes and creates forced turnovers on the defensive side. Offensively he can run in transition and has no issues finishing strong at the rim or setting his teammates up for easy buckets. Mario is someone to keep close on your radar as I have a feeling he’ll be aiming to go out with a bang heading into his senior year.
