Let's take a look at the candidates for Prep Hoops Utah Mr. Basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1057037' first='Cooper' last='Lewis'] || Lehi High School || 2024 ||

Lewis is a no brainer candidate a player that scores like crazy and Lewis is an underrated defender as well. Lewis is in range as soon as he get in the gym. He has made some incredible shots and he has probably put up some scoring performances that are just incredible. He makes a defenders life miserable as he makes them chase him around. He changes speeds and he knows how to use screens. Lewis has had a fantastic 4 year career and a state title under his belt already.

[player_tooltip player_id='1298532' first='Jaxon' last='Johnson'] || Alta High School || 2024 ||

[player_tooltip player_id='1298532' first='Jaxon' last='Johnson'] has been solid all year. He has really improved all around. It often seems like he is not doing a lot or you look at the scoresheet and see that he might not have had 20, but he does it all for Alta. Johnson has been blocking shots like crazy, he is altering shots and he goes in and gets rebounds like crazy. His assist have gone up, Johnson is one of the most complete players in the state. He is looking to help Alta repeat at State Champions in 5A.

[player_tooltip player_id='1057034' first='Dutch' last='Dowdell'] || Olympus High School || 2024 ||

Dowdell sure is leaving his mark with some state and school records. He has had a fantastic year and he is a player that has developed very well over the past 4 years. Dowdell is not just a shooter he is a player that defends his position and can often times defend bigger players. He can keep the defense honest with his shooting and attacking ability. He is going to be a really good player over at Harvard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1057035' first='Ace' last='Reiser'] || Alta High School || 2024 ||

Reiser has been instrumental in the huge run they have had and continue to have moving towards the playoffs. Reiser is the player that conducts this engine as he makes things happen on his own but he also gets easy looks for the guards. Reiser is one of the best creators in the state and a finisher at that. If you let him shoot he will hurt you, if you play up he will blow by you. He has really come along nicely over the past few years. He is a big time next level prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1057020' first='Jordan' last='Barnes'] || Olympus High School || 2024 ||

[player_tooltip player_id='1057020' first='Jordan' last='Barnes'] is arguably one of the best if not the best PG in the state with his overall game. Not only is he a player that gets things going for his team but he can score himself as well. Barnes is a solid candidate. He is heading to Utah State University.

[player_tooltip player_id='1185179' first='Kyle' last='Lemke'] || Dixie High School || 2024 ||

Lemke is a legit candidate that has been very hard to stop all year. Regardless if it is in-state or out of state. He does not care who is guarding him, he is going at them. Lemke plays above the rim and protects the rim. He has a chance to lead Dixie to another state title.
