Gaston Christian's road to this year's final has been filled with upsets as they upended Greensboro Day School and then top seed High Point Christian on the road to punch their ticket. Big man Gabby Mabor has begun to come into his own this season for them. He put up 22 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in their victory over High Point Christian and continues to raise his stock as a top unsigned senior.

Then they've got [player_tooltip player_id='1672429' first='Cameron' last='Newman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1809463' first='Joe' last='Rhyne'] in the backcourt. Newman is a stat sheet stuffer who put up 16 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds in the semifinals. Rhyne is their sharpshooter on the perimeter. He finished with nine points in the semifinals. Overall, they're well-coached under head coach Chris Duhon and have a chance to really pull off a shocker in the title game.

Forsyth Country Day has had their fair share of success this season in getting to the NCISAA 3A title game. They've got a 26-6 record and are coming off a big win over Caldwell Academy in the semis.

New Orleans commit Bobby Cannon has played strong in the frontcourt while [player_tooltip player_id='1556663' first='Q' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='997745' first='Iverson' last='King'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1976853' first='Jahon' last='Foster'] have held things down in the backcourt. [player_tooltip player_id='854910' first='Draven' last='Pilson'] has begun to emerge for them at the right time as well. They're another well-rounded group who should cause some issues for Gaston Christian given their skillset.

Look for another game that comes down to the wire in the NCISAA 3A State Playoffs. Both teams play extremely hard when the stakes are high and Gaston Christian has had their fair share of upsets this season. Tune in Saturday at 1:00 PM.
