We take a look at some of the players to watch:
Stores is currently tied for #2 in scoring in the CHSAA this year at 19.2 points per game. The #2 Ravens take on the #7 seed Mount Saint Michael to start things off on Sunday. An effective home game will help Stores and the Ravens. Stores is one of the most consistently productive wings in the league and finds a way to score in the mid-range or get to the rim. He is also a very good rebounder and competes defensively.
Thompson and fellow 2025 G Noah Williams Noah Williams 5’10” | CG Mount St Michael | 2025 State NY have paced the Mount Saint Michael offense this year, both averaging over 11 points. Both will have to continue to do so if they are going to spring the upset. While it’s not a sure thing, there’s a chance that Thompson and Stores could be matched up for a good part of their game.
Lewis has been one of Hayes’ most effective players on both ends this year and has competed and done well guarding opposing bigs on more nights than not. The Cardinals are an undersized group who can really run and shoot it. It’s up to Lewis and fellow 2026 G Malik Fields Malik Fields 6’4″ | SG Cardinal Hayes | 2026 State NY to give them an interior presence. They’ll take on the #3 seed in Iona Prep
Morillo has led a balanced Iona Prep group in scoring this season, but the 6-foot-5 wing does more than score. He can create a bit off the dribble and is a solid rebounder and defender. The Gaels as a whole will have a size advantage almost across the board so it could be an interesting matchup of styles against the Cardinals. Keep an eye out for senior forward Alex Bryant, who turned in a monster performance earlier this month.
Martin had a near triple-double on Thursday night as St. Peter’s captured yet another SIHSL championship. The 2024 wing is one of three seniors who have been leading St. Peter’s all season and will need to do so again on Sunday. Point guard Jalen Munson Jalen Munson 5’10” | CG St Peters | 2024 State NY knows how to create space and manage a game while being a scorer himself. Forward Jorel Monroe gives them another scorer who can be a factor on the glass.
Anderson has used this high school season to cement his status as one of the best guards in a deep 2026 class in New York City. The 6-foot-1 floor general has been a factor on both ends of the floor and will look to lead the #4 seed Crusaders against #5 seed St. Peter’s to close out the action on Sunday. 2024 G Nas Rodriguez will certainly look to assert himself offensively while 2025 G Kaleb Popette and 2025 wing Nevion LeGree are potential X-Factors.
