South River responded with a 20-1 run midway through the 2Q to build a 7-point lead before halftime, spurred by the perimeter shooting of Jack Schrader and James Crimaudo James Crimaudo 6'4" | SF South River | 2024 State MD and the play-making of Jaden McDuffie. South River led by 5 after 3 quarters of play and maintained a 2-basket lead until 3 minutes remained in the game. Noah Frayer hit back to back elbow jumpers to cut the lead to 2 with 42 seconds left. Teammate Ryan Alston split a pair of FTs but grabbed the missed FT and hit the putback to give Arundel a 70-69 lead. After an empty SR possession, Arundel missed a pair of FTs. Liam Barney Liam Barney 6'2" | PG South River | 2024 MD drove through the lane and hit a floater through the contact to give SR a 71-70 lead with 11 seconds left. After 2 really good Arundel looks at the rim from beyond the arc clanged out, SR secured the rebound and got out of there with a hard-fought 71-70 win.

Noah Frayer
Noah Frayer
The explosive scorer continues a standout senior season with a HUGE 32p 5r 4a 4s performance in this one off off 53% shooting from the floor. Frayer was a big part of the early double-digit Arundel lead with his transition scoring at the rim and with elbow jumpers from either side. Frayer showed an ability to hit both C+S 3s as well as perimeter shots off the point, the biggest reason that college coaches should be reaching out. His change of pace and burst allow him to get to his spots and he showed good finishing craft around the basket. Has improved as an on-ball defender and got to 4 steals by jumping passing lanes and timing dribbling cadence to get steals on the ball as well.
Barney made a ton of huge plays in this one but none better than the go-ahead floater in the paint through the contact to put his team up for good. The stocky 6-2 senior guard is a physical downhill driver that did a great job of using his scoring gravity after a few made 3s to find teammates for open shots–mostly 3-point bombs in this one. Barney finished with a near double-double at 14p 8a 2s 1r
Highlights
Jack Schrader
Jack Schrader
Schrader came to life in the 2H of this game, hitting a slew of perimeter jumpers (11 of his 19 total points in the 2H) in the last two quarters to lead his team back into this game. He closed out 3 huge defensive possessions late with a rebound in traffic to preserve close leads for his team. Schrader scored 3 of his last 5 baskets in the paint by finishing with either hand just before the defense recovered. The skilled wing finished with 19p 5r 1a 1s to lead his South River team in scoring. Very interesting small college prospect to keep an eye on.
Javeon Reed
Javeon Reed
Reed jumped out to a really strong start with 8 points in the early going off of finishes at the rim in transition and midrange pull-up. In the 2H he showed us his ability to hit floaters and 3s with a soft touch and great arc. He has a unique herky-jerky shift to his ball-handling and drives to the basket that throws the defender off their timing, usually resulting in an out-of-position foul from the defense or a made basket–or both. As his handle and court vision continue to grow, I think he will be an effective and versatile floor general.
Jaden McDuffie
Jaden McDuffie
McDuffie is a hidden gem in the 2026 class that will turn a lot of heads down the stretch this season and next summer as he continues to grow and develop his game. He’s already grown 6 inches in the past year and will likely grow more based off family history. Despite struggling from some early turnover and shooting issues, McDuffie still finished with a double-double and served as an effective glue guy that created easy looks for his teammates and extra possessions with his rebounding. His blend of ball-handling, passing (off the bounce or stationary), and shooting make him a fit at either guard spot. A cagey defender that anticipates crossovers and shot attempts well, he has a nose for the basketball and gets to a ton of shot blocks and steals. He will play a big part in the Seahawks’ playoff run and figures to be a huge piece in their program’s success down the line.
