PHD watched him early in the season and I was impressed. I will not be surprised if Terwilliger ends up being a D1 football player. He has the size, frame, muscle, and mobility for it. When watching Cooper I was impressed with his physicality, hustle, and energy. He looked to be a sure-handed power forward. He runs the floor hard and can score in transition. Terwilliger plays with a strong base and good balance. He is high-yielding on the boards and Cooper provides a physical post presence on both ends. This young Gov is a beast!
He has had an unbelievable season as the starting PG for the Trojan Varsity squad. Connor has started every game this year except for Senior Day and he is performing like a Rockstar! Mebius is the leading scorer for the Trojans at 13.8 ppg and he has had two 27 points outbursts. The impressive thing is, Connor has been super efficient. Against EPJ, Mebius only needed 16 shots to score 27, he had another game where he scored 23 and only shot 9 times. Meebs is not just a scorer, he leads WC in assists (2.8) and has made 60 triples while shooting an insane 45% from 3. West Central plays a tough schedule as well, it is not like he is not putting up wild numbers against cupcakes. Meebs scores off the bounce & catch, is a sharp passer, and he is a good defender on the perimeter. It is fair to say that Meebs has a radiant future!

Grif has been really good for Tea in the second half of the season. Wiebenga has had some big scoring games off the bench and has really contributed energy, defense, and rebounding as he has become more comfortable. Grif projects to be one of our top guys for Tea the next three seasons & I think he will be a top player in the area as he continues to grow and develop. The young Wiebenga is extra-skilled for his age, can score from all levels, and his shooting range runs deep!

Carter is having one heck of a year for the Warriors. He starts and has helped Winner to an impressive 15-4 record. Everyone at WHS knew Craven would be a nice scoring forward, but what they didn’t know that his rebounding ability would be Dennis Rodman-like as a frosh. Carter is averaging 10.1 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Those rebounding numbers are beyond impressive when you consider the fact that he is sharing the paint with D1 football player Shawn Hammerbeck Shawn Hammerbeck 6’7″ | PF Winner | 2025 State SD ! Craven always finds a way to get involved and make positive plays for the Warriors. Winner must be happy with his progression and production. This kid looks to have a high ceiling!

Ben has had a very nice season and it gets better as it goes on. Sprecher is getting legit varsity burn and he is making the most of it. On Feb 16th, Washington took down rival Roosevelt and Ben was named the GameChanger. He made some big plays at crucial moments. Sprecher can shoot, defend, and he is a smart player. Ben has a sweet touch from the 3-point arc, good size/well built, and he is a solid all-around baller. WHS is lucky to have him, his game will only keep improving, watch out for Mr. Sprecher!

Dowd has done well this season. Austin plays sophomore-JV and has held his own. He needs to improve at the FT line, but has done a good job sealing in the post and scoring down low. It is always encouraging to see a young BIG perform well against larger/older players. Dowd is a workhorse and he will do anything that is asked. He is super athletic and is an impressive dunker. His left-handed hook-shot is coming around nicely. Austin plays for one of the best coaches in SD who is disciplined, tough, and cares about the little things. This will only make Dowd better and his game will blossom the longer he is around coach Nelson. Dowd has a boatload of potential!

He has impressive size for just a 9th grader. Kenyon has a soft finishing touch around the cup and he scores with both hands. His size and length make him a tough player in the paint. Kyler can get physical around the hoop on D and board up. This fall I was impressed with his finishing around the hoop and how he created space. I like how he runs the floor and seals for space. Kyler has a nose for the ball and the Patriots have to be excited about his potential!

Schaefer is a smart player with a high hoops IQ and he has a bright future for the Patriots. Brody is known as a an athletic baller who can shoot the triple with accuracy, lock up on defense, and make things happen with his quickness and speed. He is not the biggest player on the court but he makes up for it with his strength and toughness. Brody is also as a tough defender on the perimeter. Keep track of this kid from Lincoln, he is the real deal!
