Nathan Law Nathan Law 6’5″ | SG St. Thomas Episcopal | 2024 State TX finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in a win against Kashmere High School. He also finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field (8-18). In transition he did a great job of finding open teammates setting them up for open shots making the right pass in order for his team to easily execute on offense. With his total rebound numbers at 6, he had 5 of them on the offensive end which gave his team many second chance opportunities due to his hustle on that end of the floor. Nathan is a great finisher around the basket that can finish with both hands and has a great touch. On defense he does a great job of staying in front of ball handlers while also being able to be in passing lanes creating opportunities for himself to steal the ball from opposing players. Overall, Nathan has a great feel for the game with a great IQ. Nathan is currently committed to the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley where he will excel.
Jared Harris Jared Harris 6’3″ | SG Silsbee | 2024 State #63 Nation TX finished the game against Episcopal High School with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. What really stands out to me is his tremendous athleticism. He is always looking for ways to create fast break opportunities for his team by being one of the players down the court once his team gets a stop on the defensive end. Due to his athleticism, he can run faster than his opposition on the fast break the majority of the time to create transition baskets for himself or others. Jared is a creative finisher around the rim even with traffic in his way that can draw a ton of fouls. In this game he shot 92% from the free throw line with 13 attempts. The Memphis commit’s future is going to be a bright one.
Shelton Henderson Shelton Henderson 6’7″ | SF Bellaire | 2025 State #89 Nation TX recorded 26 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in his game against Shadow Creek High School. With me watching many of his games this season, what immediately stands out to me is his ability to drive pass by opposing players due to his size and quickness with ease. He is a player that always looking to attack the rim aggressively especially in transition. Shelton is also very skilled at drawing a lot of fouls with his aggressive play style on offense as he went 10-10 from the line against Shadow Creek. Defensively he can guard different positions on the floor and also get in passing lanes for steals. Currently he is getting highly recruited by many D1 schools across the country and is in the 2025 class with a lot of potential.
Jerrell Barron Jr. Jerrell Barron Jr. 6’5″ | SG Humble Atascocita | 2024 State TX is a very skilled player that is an important part of the Atascocita High School basketball team. The reason is because he plays the right way on both ends of the court. On offense he is a sharpshooter that shoots with confidence off the catch and off the dribble. He is a facilitator that makes the right pass to open teammates to set them up for quality shots. On defense he is a great defender that has a long wingspan that he uses to take up space picking up ball handlers on opposing teams and get steals in passing lanes. Jerrell is currently committed to play at Brown University next year with a lot of potential to grow.
Chance Puryear Chance Puryear 6’6″ | SF Dallas Carter | 2024 State #230 Nation TX of Carter High School in Dallas, Texas caught my eye with his ability to be a strong defender against Atascocita High School. He is willing to hustle hard on defense as he can guard multiple positions with his physical frame and high motor on the defensive end. Chance isn’t really a ball watcher when a shot is shot on both ends of the floor as he boxes out for rebounds with a relentless pursuit for the basketball. On offense he is an aggressive rim attacker that draws fouls due to his physicality and can make shots on the perimeter on spot ups. Puryear is currently committed to Southern Methodist University who is only going to get better with time.
