He is willing to hustle hard on defense as he can guard multiple positions with his physical frame and high motor on the defensive end. Chance isn’t really a ball watcher when a shot is shot on both ends of the floor as he boxes out for rebounds with a relentless pursuit for the basketball. On offense he is an aggressive rim attacker that draws fouls due to his physicality and can make shots on the perimeter on spot ups. Puryear is currently committed to Southern Methodist University who is only going to get better with time.

Puryear’s game featured great balance, particularly on offense, where his terrific footwork allowed him to navigate through traffic with jump stops. In transition, he played a game-changing role, dictating the speed and pace, forcing South Oak Cliff to adapt to his tempo.

Puryear is an extremely athletic wingman with a beautiful jumpshot. Range is not a factor and he can shoot on the move. Chance runs the floor like a deer and finishes above the rim. He has a great motor on the floor. Although this summer is when he should get to showcase his propensity to attack off the dribble and get all the way to the basket. If he adds the dribbling skills this offseason I can see him being a steal for a high major college.
