Prep Hoops Florida scouts Matt LaSalle and Ross Van De Griek will be on the grounds of the event. Here are the top wings and forwards to watch for this weekend:
The 6-0 junior small forward is a two-sport athlete as he excels on the hardwood just as much as he does on the gridiron. Lewis can beat you in a variety of ways whether it’s off the dribble or his ability to shoot from beyond the arc. Lewis is a straight-line-drive finisher as well and he is unafraid when it comes to scoring through contact. Defensively, Lewis can guard multiple positions using his versatility and athleticism to stay in front of the opposing guards. He is a vocal leader and proven-winner where he does all the dirty work and makes hustle plays that necessarily won’t show up in the box score.
The 6-8 junior power forward has a huge amount of athleticism where he can punish you at the rim or in the mid-range game. Johnson is quick for his size when he gets to his spots and has a smooth touch and a strong understanding of the game. Offensively, he has also improved his perimeter game where he isn’t afraid to shoot two or three 3-point attempts a game. Defensively, he has become more versatile where he guards multiple positions and also handles the ball exceptionally well for his size. Keep tabs on Johnson as he is emerging as a prospect right before our eyes.
The 6-7 senior forward and Missouri commit is a dominant prospect who is college-ready and has matured right before our eyes. Allen plays with a ton of length on both ends of the floor whether it’s finishing on the block offensively or challenging tough shots on the defensive end. Allen has also improved his mid-range touch where he has a huge upside and has proven he can be a knock-down shooter from up to 15 feet away from the basket. His IQ continues to rise as he has a bright future and could be a possible NBA Draft pick in the next couple years.
The 6-6 senior wing is highly-touted to cover as he brings a ton of skill to his offensive game whether it’s shooting from behind the arc or on the interior. Lamb has soft hands and a great touch in the paint where he can finish over bigger defenders as he uses his athleticism. Defensively, he has become more versatile where he can guard on-the-ball as well as off-the-ball at a high level. He also has a strong nose for the passing lanes where he uses his length to get tips and steals leading to fast break points at the other end. Lamb is a college-ready prospect whether he’s playing at the guard position or out on the wing.
Highlights
The 6-4 senior and University of Florida signee is a matchup nightmare whether it’s offensively or defensively. Brown is a natural three-level scorer who can create his shot whether it’s off the bounce or catch. On the defensive end, Brown is a disruptor where he can guard on the ball applying pressure to smaller and quicker guards. Brown’s off-the-ball skills have continued to improve as well where he has a strong knack for jumping the passing lanes and uses his length to get steals. He has gradually improved his game since last spring and summer where he will continue to make an impact even at the next level.
Highlights
The 6-9 sophomore wing is a Top-10 recruit for his class and has shown reasons why he can become a legitimate big-time prospect. Constanza plays with a strong understanding of the game whether it’s playing the guard position or in the post. Offensively, Constanza is a true three-level scorer who can play off the ball where he gets to his spots, and can finish on the attack. Defensively, Constanza is very versatile and he can guard all five positions as he has a ton of length and athleticism in his game. Constanza currently holds offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Syracuse and several others.
The 6-5 senior wing and Southern Miss signee is very aggressive on the offensive end where he can be an inside-out threat with a smooth touch for his outside shot. Reid is long and athletic where he can rebound effectively on both ends of the floor where he can score off put-backs and lobs at the rim. On the defensive side, Reid plays with good energy where he can guard multiple positions as well as show quickness when guarding on the perimeter. His ability to jump passing lanes has continued to improve as well. Reid is also very strong and physical when it comes to defending the interior as well where he can get you a near double-double on any given night.
The 7-0 junior center has made a huge impact right away after transferring from Lakeland Kathleen to Gibbs before the season. He is the ultimate athlete where he covers a lot of ground whether it’s at the front of the rim or out on the perimeter. He has underrated footwork where he can guard multiple positions and play under control without fouling around the rim. Keep in mind Medina is just in his third year of playing organized basketball as he has gradually improved his game every time he steps on the floor.
