There were a ton of prospects on both sides and the stars came out to play! HF led the majority of the game, but every time it looked like they would run away Bolingbrook game back with a run. Homewood Flossmoor did end up pulling away late winning by a final of 80-64. Here are the players that stood out in Top Performers: Homewood Flossmoor vs Bolingbrook!
Bryce Heard Bryce Heard 6'6" | SG Homewood Flossmoor | 2025 State #86 Nation IL (Homewood Flossmoor – 2025)
Best game we have seen Heard play since returning to the state. The #2 overall prospect in the junior class came out aggressive and went to work draining feathery jumpers one after another. Opened up with three early threes along with a deep pull up two. Was rising up and shooting it with a lot of confidence. Would go on to hit three more from distance on the night along with scoring inside on put backs and out of the dunker spot. When his shots are falling like they were tonight he is one of the best players in the state regardless of class. Went for 26 points.
Gianni Cobb Gianni Cobb 6'0" | PG Homewood Flossmoor | 2024 State IL (Homewood Flossmoor – 2024 – Columbia)
Cobb was coming off another clutch shot vs Thornton on Sunday night for the win. The Columbia commit is the guy that makes this HF team go. Plays with tremendous speed, burst, and athleticism. Slow start, but then got it rolling. Started off with a deep top of the key three. Then it was all out attack mode off the bounce and in transition going coast to coast. Lived at the foul line in this one off his aggressive nature. Finished with 26 points.
Carson Brownfield Carson Brownfield 6'5" | SF Homewood Flosmoor | 2024 State IL (Homewood Flossmoor – 2024)
Brownfield is one of the least heralded players that just produces for a top team. Big bodied small forward that can play some small ball four when needed was a beast on the glass in this game. Also used that strength getting downhill bullying his way for scores and scoring at the cup. Tight handles and finishes in a variety of ways including a sweet euro step. He had 15 points.
Jayden Tyler Jayden Tyler 6'0" | PG Homewood Flossmoor | 2025 State IL (Homewood Flossmoor – 2025)
Tyler got his team off to a fast start along with heard in the first quarter scoring all 6 of his points in the opening quarter. Shot fake into a mid-range pull up, floater, and a blow by for a bucket. The rest of the game he was more of a passing threat getting others involved off the dribble kicking to shooters.
Davion Thompson Davion Thompson 6'2" | SG Bolingbrook | 2027 IL (Bolingbrook – 2027)
Thompson continues to elevate his game each and every time we see him play. The shooting guard for Bolingbrook had a slow start to the game, but each instance when it seemed HF was about to run away with the game he went on a scoring barrage of his own. Spinning layups, shifty takes off the bounce, coast to coast drives, a couple threes, and got to the foul line. Legit three level scorer that has it all in his bag! Notched 27 points in the loss.
JT Pettigrew JT Pettigrew 6'8" | C Bolingbrook | 2025 State IL (Bolingbrook – 2025)
Pettigrew took a massive bump in our last rankings and he continues to post double doubles on the regular including this one where he had 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Quick to the offensive glass, finished out of the dunker spot, and hit a mid-range jumper. He did miss several bunnies or tip dunks in this one he wishes he could have back. Defensively is an aggressive shot blocker that will go all out for the swat.
KJ Cathey (Bolingbrook – 2024)
Small college prospect that plays well within the Bolingbrook team concept. Brings toughness and slashing to the table. The shooting guard got in the lane for 7 points.
DJ Strong DJ Strong 5'9" | PG Bolingbrook | 2024 State IL (Bolingbrook – 2024)
Recent North Park commit is a long and angular lefty combo guard that got Bolingbrook going early with a transition finish and a three. Ended the game with 7 points.
