Briar Woods guard Devon Pettibone Devon Pettibone 5’11” | PG Briar Woods | 2026 VA had a nice week. He opened the week with 20 points and 4 assists in an OT win over Riverside. He had a great game shooting the ball, knocking down 3 threes in a big performance. Then, Pettibone had 16 points and 5 steals on Friday in a hard-fought win over James Wood. Devon led Briar to a 2-1 week with some excellent performances.

This week was the first week I had the opportunity to watch Alexandria City Sophomore guard Darius Bivins Darius Bivins 6’0″ | PG Alexandria City | 2026 State VA . Darius ended the week with a poor shooting night, finishing with only 10 points in a 21-point win over Lake Braddock. He still almost collected a triple-double with 11 assists and 9 steals. Then, on Thursday, Bivins put in 24 points in a 4-point win over a great South County squad. He also put on a show against one of the best teams in the state in John Marshall, in the MLK classic, putting in 24 in that game as well. Darius has so many moves he can go to and has a deep bag. His ball-handling, shot-making vision, and finishing were showcased all week.

On Wednesday, I went to Westfield to watch Centreville take on Westfield. Westfield has four impressive Sophomoers, and the most impressive out of the 4 in this game was Jemon Price Jemon Price 6’2″ | CG Westfield | 2026 State VA . Jemon knocked down some mid-range shots and converted at the line when he got there. He finished with 21 points and did a nice job on defense. He also put in another big game with 18 points in a gritty win over James Madison. It was an excellent week for Price, leading his team in scoring back-to-back games in back-to-back victories.
Highlights
Fairfax Forward Cam Love Cam Love 6’4″ | SF Fairfax | 2024 State VA had two outstanding games this week. In an 8-point loss to West Potomac, he put in an efficient 22 points and 7 rebounds. Then, later in the week, in a low-scoring 3-point win over Woodson, Cam scored 20 of his team’s 40. Cam has a lot of skill for his size, and at 6’5″, he is a very good athlete. This Fairfax team has many good players, and Cam Love Cam Love 6’4″ | SF Fairfax | 2024 State VA is one of them.
Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 6’1″ | CG Tuscarora | 2024 State VA has a lot of game. Tuscarora went 2-0 last week, and Jayden led them in scoring in both games. On Wednesday, Jayden had a massive second half, scoring 26 points in a 20-point win over John Champe. Then, on Friday, he had 19 against Dominion in a blowout. Jayden is a tremendous shooter, and you’re in trouble if you give him space. He has a nice handle and made a couple of big-time moves to get himself space. Jayden has been on a tear this year and is one of the best guards in NOVA this season.
Potomac Falls had a 3-0 week and improved to 14-0 on the season. They always get contributions from many people, but Colby Margenau Colby Margenau 6’7″ | SF Potomac Falls | 2024 State VA had a great week this week. He had a respectable 14 in back-to-back games against Independence and Broad Run, but he had a massive game against Riverside, scoring 25. Colby brings a lot of things to you on both ends of the court. At 6’7′”, he can put the ball on the floor as a driver, shoot a little bit, and he plays the game hard. For a guy his size, Colby is skilled and a big reason Pot Falls is as good as they are.
