Let’s take a look at the matchups we will be following this Tuesday night.
Ben Davis @ Decatur Central
The defending state champion Giants were upset in the quarterfinals of the Marion County Tournament last week by Franklin Central who then went on a run to the championship game. Now, they will look to bounce back against an under-the-radar Decatur Central team that is 7-3. Senior guard K.C. Berry K.C. New Palestine @ Richmond
This is the game I’ll be covering this evening. Richmond holds the state’s best record at 16-0 while New Palestine has rattled off four straight wins and seven of their last eight to improve to 9-2 on the season. These two teams could meet again in Sectional 9. Junior guard Julius Gizzi has been absolutely going off of late for the Dragons and is now averaging 29.6 points per game. Cedric Horton Cedric Horton 6'4" | SG Richmond | 2025 State #321 Nation IN , Mason Carpenter, and Braiden Hogg Braiden Hogg 6'1" | PG Richmond | 2024 State IN are the names to know for the Red Devils while Ryder Cate has missed the last several games due to injury. Tonight will be Richmond’s toughest test yet this season.
Penn @ Northridge
Two teams that have flown under-the-radar some in northern Indiana but have also dropped recent games. Penn lost two straight before rebounding with a 35-31 win over Jimtown. Meanwhile, Northridge has lost two straight to fall to 10-3. Still, junior guard Mason Bales Mason Bales 6'1" | SG Northridge | 2025 State IN is putting up some big numbers this season and will have some strong competition in this one going against the likes of Trey Miller Trey Miller 6'3" | SF Penn | 2024 IN , Maverick Brown Maverick Brown 6'1" | PG Penn | 2024 IN , and Dominic Bonner Dominic Bonner 6'2" | PG Penn | 2024 State IN . Zionsville is coming off of taking #4 ranked Noblesville down to the wire. The Eagles are 7-6 on the season led by junior guard Maguire Mitchell Maguire Mitchell 6'5" | SG Zionsville | 2025 State IN ‘s huge season. He is averaging 23.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. His classmate Drew Snivley is putting up big numbers as well averaging 17.0 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Those two give Zionsville a chance to win every time they take the floor. Warren Central continues to hold their own against one of the toughest schedules in the state with an 8-6 record.
