Asante Asane | 6’0” PG | Bishop O’Connell
Asane plays on a nationally ranked team that’s chock full of talented division one upperclassmen, and the fact that he gets playing time already shows how talented he is. He’s a lightning quick guard who is shifty off the bounce and touches the paint, he can make shots from multiple levels off the bounce, he makes others better and he is already a good on ball defender who will only get better moving forward.
Troy Tomlin Troy Tomlin 6'3" | CG Paul VI | 2027 State VA | 6’4” WF | Paul VI
Tomlin may be overshadowed by a top 5 nationally ranked team that has 5 seniors signed to major division one schools and other upperclassmen being recruited heavily, but in the time he’s got so far this year he’s shown he’s going to be on the same level as them moving forward. The 6’4” wing is a big time athlete who plays above the rim effortlessly already, he can catch and shoot from deep when he’s open and he’s just scratching the surface with how good he’ll be moving forward.
Makel Minor | 5’10” PG | James Monroe
Minor has took Fredericksburg basketball by storm, as the freshman out of Monroe has put up huge numbers so far including a 50 ball in one of his first games and has left no doubt he’s one of the top freshmen in the entire state. The 5’10 lead guard is a dynamic scorer with a lightning quick first step and good shift to create space, he can drill it from deep and is a strong and explosive finisher when he gets downhill and he plays with a lot of toughness on both ends of the floor.
Cam Claiborne | 5’10” PG | John Marshall
Claiborne doesn’t get too much time for JM who has one of the best upperclassmen backcourts in the state, but when he’s gotten in he’s shown his upside and why he’s a freshman on varsity for the nationally ranked team. The 5’10’ lead guard is highly skilled as he can make shots from deep and in the midrange, he handles pressure well and has good shift off the bounce and he has great instincts and makes disruptions on the defensive end too.
Jordyn Houston Jordyn Houston 6'8" | PF Woodside | 2027 VA | 6’7” PF | Woodside
Houston has been one of the most impressive freshman in the state playing on one of the top teams in the state, and the only thing more impressive than his size and base skillset is his fearlessness and competitive mentality at his young age. He doesn’t back down from matchups against older and even nationally ranked players, he isn’t afraid to match physicality in the paint and he has great touch around the rim and is always around the basketball.
