Brown came to play today for the Gamecocks. BJ helped his squad defeat Hilton Head Christian on his way to scoring 24 points while grabbing 6 rebounds. BJ was 11-12 from the foul line here today.
Brown a left-handed guard was really able to absorb contact on his way to the cup today. BJ showed a nice mid-range at times for the Gamecocks. He logged a lot of minutes in the victory today. Brown was able to slash to the rack at times and convert some buckets.
Skinner is a scrappy and heady guard who plays with no fear on the floor. Harrison will jump on the deck at will and at any time. He finished with 10 points today in a tough loss to Sumter HS.
Skinner surely doesn’t lack confidence on the floor with his way of barking out orders and being vocal with his teammates. Harrison dropped a few floaters in the lane today on the way to the cup.
Highlights
Tinsley is part of a very solid underclassmen class for the Bruins program. Malik showed plenty of confidence here today by scoring 18 points in a tough loss to Wilson HS. Malik wants the ball whenever he can get it. He delivered on several three-pointers for the Bruins today.
Malik moves well without the ball in his hands and finds ways to get open while getting his shot off. The Bruins have showed some growing pains at times this year but come Mid-February they could be right in the thick of things in the Upstate.
Brown played this past fall as Quarterback for the Bruins on the football field. RJ looks to overpower defenders on the way to the basket with his body. He finished with 12 points in the loss to Wilson HS 66-63 today.
RJ thrives on the contact game and getting the ball into the paint. He uses good body control to work his way loose for scoring opportunities. RJ had no problems jumping on the deck for a loose 50/50 ball here today.
Murph recently moved to the Palmetto State this past fall. After excelling on the football field as a wide receiver for the Yellow Jackets this past fall he turned his attention to the hardwood. Donovan has already picked up plenty of interest from college programs on the football field.
Murph was able to muster 12 points and 5 rebounds in the Yellow Jackets loss today to Crestwood HS. Donovan was able to drop some jumpers and create his own shot here. The Yellow Jackets are a bit down this season, but things will change for sure. Murph looks to be part of the future here at Irmo HS before moving forward.
