is a two-sport guy at Lancaster and he brings speed, strength, and intensity from the football field onto the basketball court. Brown averaged 7.9 Points Per Game along with 1.9 Rebounds Per Game and 1.1 Steals Per Game last year. He is a terrific on-ball defender with good feet and a strong frame. RJ can be effective with the ball in his hands, because of all the Bruins’ Guards he plays off the ball most often where he attacks without wasted action or dribbles.

RJ is built like a tank and he certainly knows how to use his body to fight off defenders. RJ is a pesky defender that is constantly on the move on the hardwood. RJ plays Quarterback in the fall on the gridiron for the Bruins.
RJ runs on the UAA Grassroots Circuit with Team Charlotte. Brown is extremely coachable on the floor and will never look to hesitate when it comes to jumping on the deck for a loose ball or sacrificing his body for a charge. RJ is an extremely TOUGH young man who wants to win at all costs. Brown made the jump from #42 to #20 this time around.

RJ had a big second half to help the Bruins pull away from Gray Collegiate on Friday Afternoon in North Augusta. Brown defends hard the entire game and will frequently force turnovers because he is a nightmare to get past. He moves his feet well and has a strong lower half too. RJ connected from behind the arc three times in the game, all of them coming in the second half and two of them coming in back-to-back possessions amid a Bruin run. He added 3 Steals to his stat line as well, displaying that he can poke through a passing lane or rip the ball away from a handler.

The two-sport star followed up his standout season on the football field with a great season on the basketball court. Brown is one of the most physical guards in the state – on both ends of the floor – and was a difference-maker to his squad due to that attribute. Although he doesn’t have the ball in his hands at a high rate, he can create off the dribble and hit a shot from the outside. RJ averaged 7.9 Points Per Game and 1.1 Steals Per Game this season.

Due to some unfortunate injuries for the Bruins, Brown is seeing his role and production increase early in the season. He is a two-sport star for Lancaster High School that has true football player strength and vision on the basketball court. This week he averaged 10.3 Points Per Game, 5.0 Rebounds Per Game, and 2.0 Steals across 3 games. RJ brings intensity and energy on both ends of the floor and fits the Bruins’ desire to play with pace. There aren’t a lot of guards in the state who are as strong as RJ while still being as quick as him.
