T.J. Adams T.J. Adams 6'2" | CG Marquette | 2024 State WI – 2024 – G – Marquette
Think Adams is deserving of a top 50 spot in this class. Marquette hit 21 3-pointers on Friday. Adams was responsible for seven of them. The senior guard just wouldn’t miss in the second half. If you go under a screen on Adams or don’t stay attached when he’s off the ball, he’s going to burn you. The type of prospect where once he sees it go through the net once, Adams gets in a rhythm and stays in a rhythm. I like him at the point guard spot, but there’s a little combo guard ability here too. In the open floor, Adams shows some dynamic ability to weave through traffic, keep his head up, and make good decisions on the good. If I’m a WIAC program, I’m knocking on Adams’ door a lot this winter.
Jalen Brown Jalen Brown 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa West | 2027 State WI – 2027 – W – Wauwatosa West
Brown showed why he’s one of the premier freshmen in the state. The 6-foot-4 wing came out and scored 21 points in the first half alone against Marquette. In a game that was up and down and back and forth for most of the first half, loved how Brown would go right at the Hilltoppers following a made basket and just show incredible moxy for such a young player. Brown got downhill, attacked defenders, and was able to finish through people or even off-balance at a high rate.
A unique player, Brown plays a lot of point guard. He’s advanced with the basketball and even able to get by small players. You can put him the pick n’ roll and let him make decisions. Brown is already a threat to score the basketball from all three levels. With his size and length, he’s got defensive versatility to guard 3-4 positions right now. Brown also impacts the game across the board and dabbles in all areas. While he fouled out in the second half, Brown finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal on Friday.
Ryan Meehan Ryan Meehan 6'2" | SG Marquette | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Marquette
Like Adams, Meehan got hot in the second half and just wouldn’t cool off. Meehan scored 17 points, many of which came in the second half as Marquette began to pull away. Defenders started to overcommit to Meehan at one point, but it just didn’t matter. Meehan did a great job of getting people off their feet with a shot fake and he was able to side step into a one-dribble 3-pointer. Marquette has some of the best ball movement in the state and Meehan is a big part of that. He’s hunting 3’s, but if the senior guard doesn’t have it, he’s moving the ball around the horn and relocating. A second-team All-Greater Metro pick as a junior, Meehan shot 49 percent from deep last season and appears on track for similar numbers in 2023-24.
Nolan Minessale Nolan Minessale 6'5" | SF Marquette | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SF – Marquette
Minessale came out and scored early with 13 first half points. Loved how he played to the flow of the game and changed his approach. With Marquette on fire from 3-point range, Minessale dialed back his own offense and started to create for others. I had the 6-foot-5 wing with six assists on Friday as Minessale got two feet in the paint, drew defenders, and let the hot hands take over. The St. Thomas commit finished with 17 points. As always, Minessale was dynamic around the rim. The long, bouncy athlete explodes to the rim as well as any player in the state. Minessale also continues to improve his 3-point consistency. He’s showing no hesitancy when defenders sag off and is starting to work in a mid-range game as well.
Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI – 2025 – C – Wauwatosa West
When Rogers faces undersized teams, he’s just not going to get many 1-on-1 opportunities on the block. His catches are going to be contested and defenders will swarm. That never stops the 6-foot-10 center from being productive. Rogers finished with 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting in Friday’s loss. Tosa West was able to get Rogers early in the high-low game. No longer a raw prospect, Rogers has evidently drilled the little parts of his game to death. You rarely see a kid able to improve his hands the way Rogers has. The junior center can go catch the ball away from his body, keep it high, and still finish with ease. Even against double teams, Rogers has developed patience, footwork, and balance. He makes great decisions as to whether to pass out or attack the double the team. Rogers also added 11 rebounds, three assists, and four blocks in the loss.
Notes:
– Cade Kohnen Cade Kohnen 6'4" | SF Marquette | 2024 State WI , a UW-La Crosse commit contributed 17 points for Marquette. Kohnen hit four 3-pointers and helped the Hilltoppers get settled in early.
– 2025 shooting guard Jake Hansen Jake Hansen 6'1" | SG Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #331 Nation WI had 17 points for Tosa West. Hansen
