We all know that JV games can be a look at the future of high school basketball. There are some really talented players still at that level. I’m going to give you an inside look at some talented JV players at the Saline vs. Flat Rock JV game.
You can see all of our in game evaluations as well as my other articles below.
If you’ve followed my work closely, you know I’m a really big fan of Cotuna and his game. I truly believe that he comes with a ton of upside and that was clear in the game last night. He reads shooters and shots, and uses his length to challenge and block shots. Cotuna made it tough to find an uncontested look at the rim. A majority of his points came from put backs and other very high percentage looks at the rim.
Gillum was the focus of the defense, but was still able to get some looks at the rim. He showed the ability to shoot from behind the arc and be a threat from all 3 levels. Gillum is long and athletic, and is beginning to use that to his advantage on the defensive end of the floor. I was very impressed with his passing in this game. Gillum hit teammates in stride with a bounce pass on multiple occasions.
Highlights
Lucas Fidh
Lucas Fidh
It’s not necessarily about numbers with his performance in this game. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen Fidh play enough to know that he can fill it up from beyond the arc. But it was his leadership and efficiency that stood out last night. He’s been a lead guard for as long as I can remember, but showed in this game that he can work off the ball as well. Fidh was very solid defensively on the perimeter for the Hornets.
Maximus Silva
Maximus Silva
Flat Rock may have been defeated in the game, but Silva certainly caught my eye with his play. He showed some toughness and physicality for a freshman, at times with some tough matchups against taller and longer players. Silva did a nice job attacking from mid range and manufacturing looks against a tough defense.

This was my first time really breaking down Iadipaolo’s game and I’m glad I had the opportunity. In a program pretty loaded with young guard talent, it looks like that will extend through 2027. He was confident and smart with the ball throughout the game. Iadipaolo was able to find teammates in scoring positions and was also able to attack the defense off the bounce. He showed a lot of promise as a prospect.
