Tutas certainly left his mark in the big Kenowa Hills win. He played a rugged and physical type of power game. Tutas’ strength allowed him to play much bigger than his height. He controlled the glass. So much so that it seemed like 1 shot and out for most of the second half for Thornapple Kellogg. Tutas could battle and score near the rim and also showed that he could pass out of the post.
Tyler Gavette
Tyler Gavette
I don’t think that game stats would do Gavette justice as to his influence in this game. He was the guy that the team trusted with the ball in his hands most of the time and was responsible for making a lot of decisions with the ball. I like the way he passed and moved the ball and didn’t allow it to stick. Gavette showed that he could hit a jumper from behind the arc and he also scored on a nice up and under.
Latham is a senior that holds a ton of upside. I can really see why college coaches would be excited. He’s long and athletic and in strong physical condition. Basically Latham is a 6’7″ college ready frame. He can stretch the floor some on offense and can play strong vertical defense.
Jashaun Davis
Jashaun Davis
Davis is a ball of intensity that brings a lot of emotion to the game. He’s deceptively smooth and athletic and turn the corner on what may look like quicker athletes. Davis has the nice combination of power and fluidity. He was at his best in this game when he got downhill and earned high percentage looks at the rim. Davis showed the ability to be around the ball in big moments.

I’ve always really liked Doumbouya and what he brings to the table as a player and a prospect. He’s a physically strong player that can and will bang in the paint even against bigger players. Doumbouya is a 2 way player that made easy shots tough to find and earns quality looks at the rim on the other end. He rebounds much bigger than his height. Doumbouya played starter minutes off the bench last night, but trust me when I say this, he’d be a starter for 99% of the teams in the state.
