With it being their second win over the Wildcats this season, Homewood-Flossmor makes its debut at #1. Now 21-2, the Vikings have picked up other major wins this season against DePaul Prep, Downers Grove North, and Bloom. On the other hand, Curie drops down to number 2 after losing to Lindblom. But it was their fifth game in five days at the time. Even though HF also lost, the amount of quality wins they have far exceeds that of the Condors. The Vikings have an outstanding core around Cobb with players heavily increasing their stock. Mt. Zion up to #16
After beginning the season unranked, Mt. Zion has worked its way to #16. Only losing a nail-bitter on the road at Metamora Jan 19th. 2025 6’3″ Combo-Guard Lyncoln Koester Lyncoln Koester 6'3" | SG Mt. Zion | 2025 State IL is a do-it-all player that’s averaged nearly 20 ppg. Another Junior, Brayden Trimble Brayden Trimble 6'2" | SG Mt. Zion | 2025 State IL , is a prospect that’s shown plenty of upside with his defensive capabilities. Sammy Driscoll, yet another junior, is an outstanding playmaker that shows excellent confidence attacking the rim. He’s a very explosive player despite being listed at 5’10” and is a regular double-figure player on the team. Mt. Zion has a very favorable schedule coming up as none of their opponents have reached the top 40.
Palatine Makes Debut
After being on the doorstep for the past couple weeks, Palatine makes its mark on the top 40. Led by 6’6″ wing Connor May Connor May 6'5" | SF Palatine | 2024 State IL , the Pirates have picked up several notable results this season. Most recently losing a nail-bitter to Warren by just one point. Before that, they made a Semifinal run at the Jack Tosh classic. Knocking off Lake Forest, R-B, and Yorkville.
Other Risers/Fallers
Neuqua Valley, De La Salle, Lake Park, Marist, and East St. Louis all made moderate jumps. While playing a difficult, national schedule for the majority of the season. De La Salle took care of business back home with wins over St. Ignatius and St. Francis De Sales. Led by Camden Cerese Camden Cerese 6'2" | PG Lake Park | 2024 State IL , Lake Park is 21-3 and unbeaten in 2024. Rockford Guilford, although still 19-4 and unbeaten in NIC-10 play, dropped a few spots due to their recent strength of schedule. Moline also dropped with two losses this week.
