With teams on a hiatus during the holiday break, let's check in on the statistical leaders in each category in each class to get a better feel for who some of the most productive players in the state have been so far this season. Leaders for this article are from whatever has been input into Bound as of 12/26 at 10:30 am.

1.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1178729' first='Jaden' last='Jones'] (Dallas Center-Grimes) - 6.7 assists per game

Jones is the ultimate glue guy for the Mustangs, a versatile wing who does a little bit of everything. He's a good defender, efficient scorer who takes his opportunities when they're presented, and he's a really good passer who keeps the ball moving. He has done a great job of protecting the rock as well, posting a 3.62 assist-to-turnover ratio so far this season.

2.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1751107' first='Treshaun' last='Brooks'] (Marshalltown) - 5.4

A long, athletic, and quick lead guard, Brooks is a skilled two-way player for the Bobcats who uses his length and athleticism to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He covers a lot of ground and is a good passer who sees the floor really well. He's averaging 8.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.6 steals a game in addition to his helpers.

3.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1751175' first='Davante' last='Bradford'] (Davenport West) - 5.3

Bradford is a big, physical power wing who uses his strength and physicality to bully his way to the rim for finishes, but he's also a gifted passer who sees the floor really well. He's averaging 13.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in addition to his assist numbers for the Falcons.

4.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1376711' first='Coy' last='Kipper'] (Pleasant Valley) - 5.1

Given the fact that Kipper led 4A in assists last season, it's no surprise to see him near the top of this list again. He has struggled a bit with turnovers so far this season, and the Spartans haven't been as good early this season as expected. Don't be surprised if Kipper, and PV as a whole, take off in the new year.

5.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1288923' first='Luke' last='Winkel'] (Centennial) - 5.0

One of the most talented guards in the state, Winkel is enjoying a fantastic senior season for the Jaguars, averaging 22.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists a game. He's been extremely efficient so far, posting shooting splits of 47-40-74 and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.33.

6.) 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381414' first='Jack' last='McCaffery'] (Iowa City West) - 4.8

We've always known that McCaffery can shoot it and protect the paint, but the next step in his development has happened this season - improved playmaking and passing. With his size, he's able to see over the defense and find open teammates whenever he wants, and he has really improved his touch and sense as a passer.

7.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1171687' first='Cyrus' last='Courtney'] (Kennedy) - 4.7

Courtney is a fantastic athlete on the perimeter who does a great job using his speed, strength, and athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the floor. He puts constant pressure on opposing teams with that combination, and while he hasn't had big scoring nights yet this season, he's pacing an explosive offensive attack and posting a 4.00 assist-to-turnover ratio.

8.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1587751' first='Owen' last='Havlik'] (Linn-Mar) - 4.6

A 6-3/6-4 guard with a good feel for the game, great court vision, and a high IQ, Havlik has been outstanding for the Lions so far this season, averaging 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in addition to his playmaking. He has done a good job of limiting turnovers and gets himself and his teammates great shots on nearly every possession.

9.) 2025 Andrew DeWall (Indianola) - 4.5

The Indians lost a ton of production off of last year's outstanding team, leaving a lot of inexperience on this year's roster. DeWall, a 6-3 junior, has been a standout early on, leading the team in scoring (9.0) in addition to his playmaking.

10.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1587372' first='Calvin' last='Flood'] (Urbandale) - 4.1

Flood transferred to Urbandale from Waukee, where he didn't see much playing time last season, and he has given the J-Hawks a reliable ball-handler and playmaker in the backcourt, allowing them to move [player_tooltip player_id='1172912' first='Grant' last='Uecker'] off the ball a bit more this season. Flood isn't a big-time scorer, but he understands his role and plays it well.
