Tristan is looking really poised, skilled and confident in running the attack for Nazareth. A great facilitator and distributor of the ball . He is scoring 12 ppg. In this tough league that is impressive, but he is bringing so much more to the floor. Getting the ball to his teammates in positions to make easy baskets. What is most impressing us is his on the ball defense. He is quick moving his feet and making the opposing ball handler very uncomfortable. In fact that seems to be a trait for this Nazareth squad. Play hard defense and you will be rewarded on the offensive side. Tristan has shown that he can knock down shots from beyond the arc as well as gettting to the basket and finishing.
Braylan has impressed me as much as anybody we have seen in the opening month. He was always a matchup problem because of his body and his relentless pursuit of the ball and scoring inside. He is now a very capable shooter from beyond the arc. His passing ability from the elbow or out of the post is outstanding. Very talkative player in the defensive end. We have seen him lead the breaks with quick on the money outlet passes. He possesses an assortment of post moves showing tremendous footwork. With all this he is still deadly with the foul line jumper. Braylan is averaging 16 ppg and is putting up matching double figure rebounding numbers.
A tremendous shooter. Plain and simple he makes shots. Tremendous court vision and awareness. He is a really solid player. Understands the game really well with a high basketball IQ. Very consistent shooter. Averaging 16 ppg.
Extremely quick guard. Can play at different speeds with the same positive results. Can knock down shots from behind the line. Has a super handle and quickness to get into the lane and score through contact. Gets his body into the opponent on both ends of the floor. Handles the ball in tight spots or in open space with a clear idea of what to do. I have seen him sacrifice his body in taking charges from bigger players.
We saw Noah in the team camp back in June. We are happy to see his fine play has continued into the season. Lightning quick with the ball. Averaging 12 ppg. He has nice lift on his jumper, can knock down the three. Can change direction with pace and still get accelerate into another gear.
Fordham Prep is rolling once again. Undefeated in CHSAA league A. They have a balanced attack along with the above mention Will. Ryan is averaging 15 ppg. Doing it with a combination of draining threes and a solid pull up game. He can shoot it off the bounce or coming off of screens. His quick release makes him extremely dangerous off the catch as well. Very poised with the ball in his hands while still maintaining quickness. Head is always up navigating the court and making the right play.
