There were 8 games played. The title was won on December 30, by Saint Ignatius HS (WCAL) holding on to beat University. Here’s the standouts from day 1.
At 6’3 DeVries is a good size guard who can run the point guard position with excellent vision and passing skills. He likes to feed his 6’8 post mate to keep him involved. He moves the ball around the perimeter with crisp passing. He has a good first step along with quality handles to get into the paint for scores or dishes. The lefty has body control twisting his way in to finish at times. He’ll pull up off the dribble and drop a corner 3. 14pts.
Robinson is one of NorCals top unsigned Senior guards standing 6’3, he can play both guard positions. He shoots the ball well from the 3pt line, he dropped 3 in a row to set the tone early, he finished with 5-3’s sitting out the 4th qtr. He’s a quality ball handler that can run the point, he makes good decisions, he has speed, and quickness to handles, pass, and get his shot off the dribble, or get inside. He uses his foot speed to stay close to ball handlers and shooters. He had a coupe of blocks to go with his 21pts.
Highlights
Kellogg Jr. really is one of NorCals rising play making guards in the 2025 class. He has the size at 6’3, and the point guard skill set to take his game to the next level. He’s quick, with sharp handles to attack and find with vision. He has a good shot but needs to be more consistent, he can hit the jumper off the dribble, and the 3ptr. He’s lengthy, speedy, and plays defense with good intensity. 21pts
It always comes back to Ray. He’s a rising Soph that’s steadily building up his overall skill set for the guard position. He’s handling the ball in open court and transition. He’s an underrated passer making good passes up court, and around the perimeter. Let’s be clear Whitley is a natural scorer who’s going to get his points. He’s what they call a 3 level scorer. He uses his body, balance and dribble to drive and twist his way, taking on defenders in the paint, he’ll drop a 3, or pull up off the dribble for a short jumper. 21pts.
Standing 6’4 Wright does a lot of good things working in and around the post area. He shows good patience and balance, playing off two feet, using a pump fake and other ways to score around the basket. He works well from the high post and baseline using his dribble to attack and finish at the rim, or hitting the short jumper. He’s a solid body that will defend bigger players and work for rebounds. He makes his free throws and runs the court. 11pts.
Highlights
He’s a big body with good strength and plays with energy on both sides of the ball. He’s active in the post, going after rebounds, defending or powering up for points. He has some presence. He’s improved his ball handling and play away from the basket. He’s using his dribble to handle a bit in transition and along the perimeter, he had a couple of strong drives from the baseline, and the high post, he hit the elbow jumper. He clears traffic after rebounding breaking away for a couple of dribbles. He used the angle for short jumpers off the backboard. His 17pts led the way.
It was our first look at the Senior guard who’s working under the radar, he does a little bit of everything. At 6’3 he rebounds, handles the ball in transition, can go coast to coast, he makes good passes up court and around the perimeter. He’s a good post player who can score inside, as well as spot up for 3’s along the perimeter. He had good drives to the basket. He’ll use a step back jumper to shake the defender. He had 23pts

Sommari Tanner
Tanner dropped 38 pts in a high scoring game that suited both sides who lack any real height. He has speed, moves, and quality handles to generate buckets in open space. the lefty showed he can finish with both hands making his way to the basket. He pulled up for rhythm 3’s in transition, attacked the baseline using off hand, and reverses. He’ll pass it up after pushing hard in transition, he got a few give and go buckets as well. We’ll see more of him.

Williams is a speedy athletic guard who’s going to play football at the next level. He plays basketball because he’s good and likes the sport. He loves to attack the rim in transition using his speed and body. He’s quick on the jump, has the handles and strength to challenge defenders at the rim while taking contact. He has quality handles with quick twitch moves. In this game he came off the bench as a spark to lead his team with 23pts.
He’s a 6’0 Senior guard with experience. He plays a good all around game. He’ll run the point at the beginning to settle things in half-court, work off ball making good decisions, and taking good shots. He has good handles to work his way into the paint for jumpers, he’ll knock down open 3’s in transition. He’s a ball mover, makes good cuts without the ball. He’s a key player that keeps things steady on this team. Saint Ignatius plays in the tough WCAL.
