He’s one of NorCals top prospects we don’t see in the regular high school season, we’ve only seen his work in club basketball. At 6’7 he has a quality skill set at this level that allows him to have a versatile game. He’s a good ball handler, and passer with vision up top and along the perimeter. He’ll use his dribble to create his shots, from mid-range, or attack the rim from different angles with control and strength, he finishes strong at the rim. He can drop 3’s if left open, he has the strength to get points and rebound in side. He’s a double double at this level.
He’s been steadily rising with his play this season. The unsigned Senior keeps dancing around triple doubles. He’s trimmed and more fit. He might not be your standard point guard, but the ball goes through him to facilitate. His vision and passing are noticeable. He’s scoring inside/out, showing more aggressiveness around the rim, defending and going up. He’s hitting short jumpers, and 3’s on occasion.
Long has stepped up in a big way this season. He’s a multi-skilled G/W who uses his height and vertical jump to score from different areas including in the paint. He’s playing with confidence while he actively looks to put points up in the flow. He’s dropping the mid-range jumper with some consistency, he can make 3’s in the corners. He’ll rebound, push pass or settle the offense up top.
Thompson the unsigned Senior could be the surprise in this group. He’s been consistent and continues to be a productive prospect. He has plenty of elevation he uses flying to the rim off the dribble, and slashing for finishes sometimes with dunks. He’s shown an ability to knock down jump shots off the dribble from mid-range, and spotting up for 3’s along the perimeter. He’s lengthy, rebounds, and runs the court.
He’s most like a shooting guard, but at 6’5 he has the body of a prospect that can play multiple positions. Not fast, but moves well on the court. He has the handles to create shot opportunities for himself and involve others. He has a clean jump shot with one hard dribble on the pull-up at mid range, sometimes behind the arc. He’ll drive it hard into the paint. He can get a bucket posting up if called to do so. He’ll help rebound.
Banks has all the tools to be a top notch defender when he’s locked in, he’ll guard ball handlers, and shooters. He’s long with lengthy arms and foot speed. He’s good up top baiting ball handlers, stabbing at the ball, using quick hands to get deflections, he disrupts the flow of offense at times. At 6’4 he’s sharpening his point guard skills up top, he has work to do, but showing he’s capable of facilitating in half-court sets. He’s good in transition, and will hit the 3 on occasion.
He’s always been a quality defender with speed, lateral movements and determination, often times getting the first crack at the other teams top scoring guard. This season he’s expanded his all around game to bring balance. He’s good finishing in transition. He’s comfortable shooting the jump shot if it’s there, he’s using his body and strong dribbles to attack the basket from different angles along the perimeter and baseline. He’s a starter on NorCals top team.
Highlights
He’s a good size ball handling guard that can play both guard positions. He’s an excellent facilitator in half-court settings. He shows patience, his vision and passing are good, he makes good decisions with the ball. He’s not fast but uses his body to protect the ball and get to his spots for short jumpers in and around the paint. He’ll drop a 3ptr up top, and working off ball, using screens and cuts to get open.
He has size, improving fundamentals, and good athleticism. His best days could be in front of him if he puts it all together. He’s shown flashes of what he can do. He’s gotten stronger, he’s lengthy with good jumping ability to go after rebounds and score in the paint. He’s shown he can hit corner 3’s, drive into the paint for jumpers, and finish around the rim. He’s a high flyer in transition looking for lobs and put backs. Consistency is key.
Highlights
Mansour has raised his game a notch this season, he’s leading his team in scoring. He’s a guard with good size, and experience. He’s knocking down the mid-range off the dribble, hitting 3’s. He’s a mover without the ball, using screens, and cuts to get away from defenders. If he gets a good look there’s a good chance it goes in. He’s capable of running the team in half-court sets. He takes care of the ball, makes good passing decisions, we’ve seen him get into the paint using his dribble.
