Expert Analysis
Britt Wright | Prep Hoops Scout
Thompson the unsigned Senior could be the surprise in this group. He’s been consistent and continues to be a productive prospect. He has plenty of elevation he uses flying to the rim off the dribble, and slashing for finishes sometimes with dunks. He’s shown an ability to knock down jump shots off the dribble from mid-range, and spotting up for 3’s along the perimeter. He’s lengthy, rebounds, and runs the court.

Thompson, the unsigned Senior is on an upward path. He had one of the better performances on the day. The 6’6 wing repeatedly finished at the rim gliding in for dunks and points with hang time in traffic. He had transition dunks. He got rebounds, scored inside, handled the ball like a guard in transition with good passing up court. He plays under control with dribble drive moves that get him into the paint for jumpers, and different finishes. He has the length and hops to go get rebounds, and blocks.

Thompson impressed with his ability to finish around the rim coming from different directions. He’s long with good hops and hang time to throw down dunks. At 6’5 he’s a guard/forward with handles using balance, lift and spin moves, along with his body to get his shots in the paint over bigs. His mid-range jumper is consistent. He’s controlled attacking the rim in transition, and can go coast to coast. He knocked down a 3ptr in transition. His length takes up passing lanes, and he goes and gets rebounds.
