He was an easy choice for this one. Lewis routinely came down with in traffic rebounds, making it look easy at times. His explosiveness and ability to play above the rim, allowed him to look like a man amongst boys, as he cleaned the glass at a high rate.
Highlights
He was the most physical rebounder I saw during the weekend. AAJ utilized the punch and jump method, getting his body into the opponent, before leaping over him to corral the board. He feasted off offensive putbacks throughout the weekend. Behind his Glass Cleaning ability, Clark went 3-0.
The freshman has a ton of confidence, when you can rebound the ball like this, why wouldn’t you? Jackson brought the fight to his opponents, muscling his way to a ton of boards. He was the most aggressive on the offensive glass, where he was able to use his instincts, power and athleticim to grab rebounds and then finish with putbacks.
Spanish Springs players ususally develop as the season goes on, so I expect more and more from Hensley. His activity and effort allowed him to be effective, grabbing boards. He was strong on both ends, keeping offensive rebounds alive and securing defensive boards for his team.
If spectacular rebounding was a category Bakindo would have been one of the leaders. Time and time again he went up and over opponents to corral boards. His quick twitch ability allowed him to be first off the floor, winning several in traffic boards.
Cameron Nero
Cameron Nero
Nero was a sneaky good rebounder, who used his physicality and frame to dislodge players from the paint. He didn’t get off the ground that high, but he seemed to always go higher than the person competing against him for the rebound. He did a good job of grabbing in traffic offensive boards and finishing them with putbacks around the rim.
