Freddie Bacon, 5’11 G – Colchester H.S. Class of 2026
Mr. Bacon was eating last night! Freddie put up a huge 41-piece at St. Johnsbury Academy, leading all scorers on the evening as the CHS Lakers fell to the Hilltoppers. Bacon gets it in a variety of ways; I like his intent on getting into the teeth of the defense and utilizing an array of short-range lays + floaters to finish and get to the line. Moreover, his mid-range and 3-ball are sighted in. Put Freddie on watch!
Will Ameden, 6’4 W/F – Burr and Burton Academy Class of 2024
Will’s inside/out game was the backbone of BBA’s attack in their loss to Rice at a score of 85-65. Ameden likes to operate from all over the floor, finding scoring on the blocks, elbows, and from the perimeter. His shooting off the catch from 3 was clicking, as were his sneaky finishes on post-ups and duck-ins off slashes. Ameden’s multi-level operation and ability to take care of + distribute the rock make him so valuable.
Harry Geng Harry Geng 6'1" | PG St Johnsbury Academy | 2024 State New E , 6’2 G – St. Johnsbury Academy Class of 2024
The southpaw can cook when he gets it going. Geng led St. J in the scoring column with a 29-point performance, pushing St. Johnsbury over the edge with an 86-72 W. Harry is a legit 3-level scorer himself, using nice off-ball work to spot-up for jumpers or cut into the second layer and finish from there. He’ll also light up a defense on-ball, using nice hesitation and ball screens to find space inside and out. Kid can put the ball in the hole.
Owen Eaton Owen Eaton 6'2" | CG Rice Memorial | 2025 State New E , 6’2 G – Rice Memorial H.S. Class of 2025
Owen’s scoring package goes so deep; his 3pt shooting is lights out whether it’s off the catch of the bounce, his pull-up is smooth all over the mid-range, and his elevation at the rim often puts him above most rim protectors. Furthermore, he’s certainly a threat in transition, but also as a creator and as an off-ball player with his cutting and spacing. Eaton’s 26 in Rice’s win against BBA came off all type of action.
Abdi Sharif, 6’4 G/W – Rice Memorial H.S. Class of 2025
You can always count on Abdi to muck it up on the defensive end. Sharif’s on-ball pressure is elite, and it directly produces offense both for himself and teammates. Moreover, he’s taken on the high-post facilitator role against zones which I love; he provides a nice target, scores best within 15-feet, and has the awareness to feed teammates inside and out. Sharif’s 19 helped RMHS overcome a gritty BBA.
Drew Bessette Drew Bessette 6'7" | PF Rice Memorial | 2024 State New E , 6’8 W/F – Rice Memorial H.S. Class of 2024
A smooth operator who plays at his own pace, the UVM commit contributed a cool 19 points to the Rice cause. His scoring is based in savvy spot-up shooting and solid slashing on hard closeouts in combination with second-chance points, FTs and the occasional post-up. Drew’s efficiency is obvious and his ability to do it with little time on ball makes him that much more effective.
Rex Hauser Rex Hauser 6'5" | SF St. Johnsbury Academy | 2025 State New E , 6’4 W – St. Johnsbury Academy Class of 2025
Hauser’s game is a joy to watch. He’s someone who scores it with efficiency, both in the sense of shooting a high pct. and doing it with limited time on the ball. He’s a fantastic open court player who makes plays with ease. Moreover, his intuition as a cutter and as a spacer make him so hard to keep track of. Rex’s defensive effort, athleticism, and varied skillset all coalesce to create a savvy scorer.
Deng Aguek, 6’2 G – South Burlington H.S. Class of 2025
A multi-level scorer who can fill it up in a variety of ways, Deng tallied 18 for SB in this one. Aguek created off of his handle and off the catch, finding the stroke from 3, getting to the rim, and to the FT line. The combo-guard took on a whole lot of ball pressure against BHS pressure defense, but he found his rhythm as the game wore on, finding gaps to exploit as he fed teammates and the cup.
Tyler Bergmans Tyler Bergmans 6'2" | SG South Burlington | 2024 State New E , 6’3 G – South Burlington H.S. Class of 2024
An efficient inside scorer, Tyler logged 17 points in an OT win against cross-town foe BHS. Bergmans is a tough guard who’s happy to take smaller defenders into the post, using physical drop steps, crafty finishes, and FTs to tally his points. Plus, his slashing is top notch, using his body well to absorb contact and draw fouls as he attacks the cup. His finishing in this one wasn’t quite as efficient as we’re accustomed to, largely because of grueling pressure and physicality, but he took care of his FTs.
Ben Koh, 6’0 G – Burlington H.S. Class of 2026
It didn’t come until the second half, but Ben got in the groove in after the first two quarters. His finishing around the rim came together, as did the stroke on his jumper. Moreover, he found some scoring out of BHS’ relentless pressure, leaking out in transition or off of steals to get the ball in the bucket, finishing with 16. Koh is among a number of high-level guards out of BHS.
