Tip Off Classic: 2A/1A Top Performers

He was playing on a bum ankle, but still came off the bench and scored a game-high 24 points. In the first half, he had three scores at the basket, but heated up from the perimeter in the second. Most of his makes came off the dribble, being very unpredictable with the ball in his hands. The Wisconsin commit was also able to dissect the defense's zone with his vision and no-look passes to teammates. He never does too much when he has the ball in his hands and he is super dependable to make the right plays. Offensively, he was scoring the ball himself, as well as getting the rest of his team involved. He filled up the statsheet with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and a handful of steals. He dominated the painted area on both ends of the floor and looks a lot more confident and aggressive compared to years prior. He ended the tight loss versus Cherry with a double-double, totaling 16 points and 14 rebounds. He was the youngest player on the floor and never backed down or looked uncomfortable. He was solid handling the ball all throughout the game and racked up 20 points. He showed off great touch around the basket on finishes and showed the ability to knock down looks from the outside as well. He was a great scoring option for Breck in Saturday's hard fought win over Alexandria, as he paced the team with 7 points in the first half. He is very creative with the ways he can create separation from a defender, utilizing different pump fakes and step backs to keep opponents guessing. He also moves very well without the ball, which resulted in some open catch-and-shoot looks. The junior wing has a lanky 6'4” frame which he used to convert on finishes at the rim and get in passing lanes for steals. He is very athletic and looked good handling the ball in space on his way to transition or fast break baskets. He played a forward/wing hybrid spot for Breck in the win over Alexandria, matching up with one of the top big men in the state. He has all the physical tools to be a lockdown defender and did not back down from the challenge. He really impressed me as a passer and facilitator, as he usually takes the game over with his scoring. He had creative ways he could thread the needle with dimes to his teammates for open looks.
