[player_tooltip player_id='1149795' first='Ty'ree' last='Edwards'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1149794' first='Ja'Kease' last='Salley'] make things go for the Woodland HS Wolverines in Class 2A. The Wolverines have beefed up there schedule this season with already two big wins over Class 5A Goose Creek HS. Edwards is a senior point guard who can really get the ball into the gaps while using his body to fight off defenders. Tyree excels in the open court and understands on how to change gears at times.

Salley is a bouncy and athletic forward for the Wolverines. Ja'Kease can step out to the perimeter and knockdown shots at times. He really does a nice job of swarming the ball on the defensive end of the floor.

Patriots Have Talent:

The Powdersville HS Patriots have some solid talent on the roster. University of South Carolina commit [player_tooltip player_id='1149799' first='Hayden' last='Assemian'] played great around the rim all day long with his play. Hayden is a great passer from the high post at times and really brings good energy to the floor. He finished several dunks here today on his way to scoring 23 points.

Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1321864' first='Nick' last='Sweet'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1849119' first='Caden' last='Kreger'] both bring the ability to make shots out on the perimeter. Sweet is an energy guy and was able to connect on several three-pointers. Nick does a nice job of keeping his feet set and delivering a nice stroke from downtown. Sweet plays vocal and understands the game while knowing where to be on the floor at all times. He does the little things to make your team win games.

Kreger is expected to make a college announcement very soon. Caden is a nice sized wing who actually comes off as the 6th man for the Patriots. Kreger shoots the ball at a high percentage clip and in a productive matter for the Patriots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2299729' first='Von' last='Burton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2305858' first='Quan' last='Burton'] are twin brothers in the junior class. The Burton boys look like they might play football but that's surely not the case. Von really likes to play off the ball and deliver some floaters from time to time down in the lane. He really will look to take the ball strong to the rack and use his body to punish defenders on the way.

Quan plays more on the ball for the Patriots. He was able to switch to his left-hand very nicely here today on the way to the cup. Quan has good body control and court vision to find the open teammate when he touches the paint.

The Lugoff-Elgin HS Demons played with 5 players in the first quarter in the opening round of the Shootout by the Sea. The rest of the team was having some issues during hotel check-in. The Demons rolled in the opener behind [player_tooltip player_id='2303418' first='Kaleb' last='Long']. Long is a sophomore left-handed guard who really plays the game with some confidence.

[player_tooltip player_id='1183968' first='Nigel' last='Chivers'] arrived in time for the 2nd quarter and finished with 9 points in the lopsided win. Chivers has a good frame and the ability to touch the paint when needed. Nigel feels very comfortable when needed to drain the open jumper on the perimeter.

Seniors Still Looking:

[player_tooltip player_id='1407099' first='Carter' last='Bobbitt'] scored 23 points in the opener to help the St James HS Sharks stay unbeaten at the time. Bobbitt really has the green light a times for the Sharks and isn't afraid to put it up when needed. Carter knocked down some pull-up jumpers off bounce. Carter arrived in Murrells Inlet a season ago after playing in New Jersey.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079094' first='TJ' last='Stanley'] likes to play like a brute at times down low in the paint for the North Myrtle Beach HS Chiefs. TJ is a player who thrives on playing with contact. Stanley plays his best basketball close to the cup and seems to be most effective from 2-4 feet away. He will look to get downhill at times from the top of key.

[player_tooltip player_id='2303419' first='Asa' last='Price'] started off his career at Keenan HS before coming over to Eau Claire HS. Price is a lengthy guard-wing who isn't afraid to take a charge on the floor at times. Asa has good length and at times likes to set up shop out on the perimeter behind the 3-point line.
