We took the ride up to the Peninsula for game 2. Private School, Serra from San Mateo (WCAL) hosted Public School, Half Moon Bay. Serra won going away after half-time 69-51. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Adam Nakai 6'3 </strong>2024 SG, Santa Teresa: It was our first look at Nakai who led his team in scoring with 24pts, 3-3's. He was confident putting the ball on floor driving using several moves to finish at the rim, including a crowd pleasing drive, spin 2 handed dunk. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Derek Quan</strong> 5'10 2027 PG, Pioneer: The Freshman will make his share of mistakes, but he's doing an excellent job running point for his team. He's shifty with deceptive speed penetrating, dishing, and scoring. He has good court vision with head up finding mates up court with long passes. He handles ball pressure. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sam Stephan </strong>6'3 2026 SG, Pioneer: He looks for his shot along the perimeter, spotting up for 3's, using a dribble or two for mid-range pull ups, or using his solid frame to attack the paint. At 6'3 he rebounds (6) helps bringing the ball up court. 26pts. He goes on the Watch List. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Gavin Glynn </strong>6'3 2024 SG, SF, Half Moon Bay: He's a confident shooter that looks to knock down 3's when he's open. He has a good release, and shoots with confidence. He led his team in scoring 13pts, including a buzzer beater to keep it close going into half-time. He had 6 rebounds. He'll pass and cut for finishes inside the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2269048' first='Owen' last='Perez'] 6'8 2026 Post, Half Moon Bay: He's a 6'8 prospect you can go to in the post. He moves across the lane to finish at the rim. He has paint presence on defense. He has a lot to learn, but there's plenty to like about one the taller prospects in the 2026 class. 7pts, 9 rebounds. He's a rising prospect. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1712318' first='Gio' last='Garduno-Martin'] 6'3 2026 CG, Half Moon Bay: He's a smart player who can have effect working from both guard positions. He's a big guard with good handles, and quality passes working from the top. He uses his body, plays on balance finishing drives into the paint, and working along the baseline. He can drop corner 3's from the catch. He had 2-3's, 12 pts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1891748' first='Andrew' last='McDowell'] 6'4 2024 Guard, Serra: A solid body hard playing G/W who is aggressive attacking the basket on the drive in half-court, and with full speed in transition. He attacks well along the baseline. He makes hard cuts to the basket, plants for balance and can finish. He can handle the ball in transition after rebounding, he's under control with good vision and passing. 13pts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1382858' first='Ryan' last='Pettis'] 6'4 2024 Guard, Serra: He's a NorCal top 5 prospect, headed to Fordham University next season. He's sharpening his overall skill set for the guard position. He's running things at a good place. His efficiency making jump shots, clean passing and decision making showed in this game. 22pts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Alton Robenault</strong> 6'5 2025 Forward, Serra: He's an active player on both sides of the court. He plays the perimeter with good passing and movement, he can dribble and pass it, yet he has the size to slash, cut and set up in the post. He's a good court runner who'll finish. He'll help rebounding, and defend from perimeter to post.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2127730' first='Angelo' last='Ghattas'] 6'5 Forward, Serra: He's a solid body forward with good strength. He's a good defender, he has a good stance, he has a good understanding of how to defend in the post on the side, hands out denying easy passes, he uses his body and has foot work. He has good lift on his shots around the rim. He's solid on the boards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2094258' first='Sebastian' last='Margate'] 5'10 2026 Guard, Serra: He did most of his scoring 8pts in the second half when Serra pulled away. He made the shots he took, a mid-range off the dribble, a corner 3 to extend the lead. He's a ball mover, looking for the assist.
