Troy Boswell Jr
Troy Boswell Jr
My secondary spark plug player of the night goes to Boswell who from the jump set the tone with how he would impact the game. He has really good size at the forward position but he instantly came down near the baseline and set up shop for easy mid-range shots that affected the defense as the game progressed. Boswell is an athletic sleeper prospect who has a decent overall game and fits well in the Winter Haven scheme.

Despite taking a close loss on Tuesday night, Battle was on fire from the field as he scored nearly 30 points for the Red Devils. Battle is just a freshman but is an athletic dual-sport prospect with good agility and speed to have an impact on the hardwood. Still has time to grow into his build but he can light it up with his jump shot and get to the basket with physicality.
One of our top breakout 2026 candidates is a deadly sniper from behind the arc and made that known early on Tuesday night. He can be a spot up shooter that uses his quick release to get off shots when he’s dished the rock or move around the floor to get open for corner or wing threes. Impressed with his development outside of shooting the rock and always impressed with his passion on both ends on the floor.
Tyrese Mayo
Tyrese Mayo
My point guard of the night goes to the senior guard who gave his team a needed spark at the top of the key. He’s a hound on the defensive end who never seems to run out of gas. He constantly ran the floor and showed off his good motor. Mayo sealed his name on the list after hitting a big three and then forcing a steal on the inbound only to complete an And 1. My hustler of the night for sure.
The No. 1 shooter in Polk County is going to get his regardless of how the night goes. Not his best showing as Winter Haven’s game plan was on point but no doubt Andino is a sniper from three or mid-range.
Mosley had the dunk of the night as he rose from the baseline for a head-topping slam that had the home crowd on their feet. He’s a lot bigger in person and someone I can see thriving at the forward position for the Blue Devils this season. Mosley has a decent mid-range game but his defensive presence and ability to run the floor was most impressive Tuesday night.
My first time getting eyes on the new Big Man addition for Victory Christian. Gol is just a sophomore but the 6-8 frame and long arms make him a threat on both ends of the floor. He surprised me with his conditioning and constant effort to run the floor. If adds weight to his frame and tweaks the fundamentals near the basket, VCA will have another Division 1 recruit in years to come.
Quinton Wilson
Quinton Wilson
The youngest name on the list is Quinton Wilson who is just in the 8th grade but will be a huge piece to the state championship puzzle for VCA. Really like this kid’s game as he can shoot from mid, has decent size, gave good effort on the boards, guarded multiple positions, and showed off an early DOG trait that you just can’t teach. Look out for Wilson to develop into a big-time recruit in the Polk area.
