We did Divisions I and II yesterday and now tackle the small schools today. Note: Records are accurate as of yesterday, games played yesterday were not factored into these rankings
1. Lutheran East (6-0)
The Falcons are playing terrific basketball right now and have already secured some signature wins. They play city rival Cleveland Heights tonight in a big game.
2. Ottawa Glandorf (5-0)
A victory over Shelby is their signature win so far this season, OG always rounds into form come playoff time but have hit their stride early as well this year.
3. Preble Shawnee (5-0)
Season opening win against Kings on a neutral court is one of the best wins of any Division III program right now. After coming close last season, could this be the year Preble Shawnee makes it to Dayton?
4. Harvest Prep (5-1)
Playing a tough non-conference schedule to get ready for the postseason, Harvest Prep has already faced some stiff competition from outside of central Ohio.
5. Malvern (5-0)
Starting in the top 10 and remaining unbeaten early in the year sees Malvern move up a few spots. Not a single game has been closer than 17 points so far this season.
6. Toledo Emmanuel Christian (4-0)
Despite losing star Jerry Easter II to a prep school transfer, Emmanuel Christian is rolling early in the season and look like a real challenger in Division III.
7. Minford (4-1)
A loss to Division I New Albany hurt, but Minford responded with a big win over North Adams to show they still might be the team to beat in southeast Ohio Division III.
8. Wayne Trace (5-1)
Their lone loss came to Crestview and needed double overtime to decide a winner. I expect Wayne Trace to continue to rack up the wins and potentially move up.
9. Columbus Academy (4-1)
They get down big to Bishop Ready early and couldn’t muster a comeback, but Columbus Academy remains in our top 10 until further notice. They’ll have more tough games to see if they need to move up or move out of the rankings.
10. Ironton (4-0)
A win over Proctorville Fairland moved Ironton in and kept Fairland but breaking into our rankings. Southeast Ohio has a lot of Division III talent and should occupy a couple spots in our top 10 throughout the season.
