In this article we’ll take a look at Division I which has seen most of the top teams stay at the top with seven of our top eight preseason teams remaining in the top 10.
1. Saint Ignatius (4-1)
Ignatius played maybe the toughest 24 hour stretch any Ohio team will face all year with neutral site games Vs Richmond Heights and Reynoldsburg. They went 1-1 with a double overtime victory over Reynoldsburg keeping them in the top spot.
2. Garfield Heights (6-0)
With a marquee win over Huntington Prep and games yet to come Vs powerhouses like Richmond Heights, Garfield Heights will have the chance to prove themselves to take the top spot.
3. Reynoldsburg (5-1)
A double overtime loss to the top ranked team is the only thing keeping Reynoldsburg from that top spot, they’ll have more opportunities to continue to impress throughout the season.
4. Toledo Whitmer (5-0)
Outside of an overtime scare on the road against Lima Senior, Whitmer has been blowing everybody else out the gym this season. They appear to be the class of northwest Ohio.
5. Delaware Hayes (6-0)
Playing without one of their best players in Landon Vanderwarker Landon Vanderwarker 6'7" | PF Delaware Hayes | 2025 State OH , Hayes still managed to defeat fellow top 10 ranked team Westerville North in a thriller. When they get him back from injury they will be even tougher to beat.
6. Archbishop Moeller (5-0)
Moeller has three solid wins over Akron STVM, Cincinnati Withrow and Cincinnati Princeton but are waiting to get healthy before they play some of the more marquee games on their schedule. The fact they are unbeaten with key players out shows the talent they have.
7. Centerville (3-1)
A blowout loss to prep power Moravian Prep dropped the Elks a little but they have been dominant against GWOC competition so far this season. A game Friday at Springboro will tell us where each team sits in the Dayton hierarchy.
8. Saint Edward (4-1)
Another team who has only lost to an out of state prep school, Saint Edward fell on a neutral to Imani Christian. They followed that up with a 21-point win over Akron STVM to respond well.
9. Brunswick (6-0)
Five of their six wins have came by double figures and their offensive firepower matches up with anybody in the state. A battle with Saint Ignatius January 7th is circled on their calendar.
10. Westerville North (5-1)
A tight loss to Delaware Hayes where they fell behind huge showed the resiliency of this team, they then beat city rival Westerville South in a convincing victory.
