Deluca had a couple of outstanding performances last week, as the wing had 31 points and 11 rebounds vs Carolina International, followed by a 23 point, 8 rebound performance vs. a strong Covenant Day group. He’s much improved as a shooter this year, showing an ability to score inside and out with efficiency. His legitimate positional size means he should be a scholarship level player by the team he chooses his school of choice.
Highlights
Hayden has been one of the most electric scorers in the state this entire season, and put together another impressive performance with 45 points and 18 rebounds in a shootout vs. Hickory Christian last week. He’s been filling it up all season long as a volume shooter that can get his from anywhere on the floor. Solid shooter, strong downhill driver, and has plenty of ability to finish through contact at the rim.
Highlights
Cannon excelled in his team’s two victories this weekend at the Ish Smith Showcase, scoring 21 in a win over Concord Academy and then 24 in a win over TBS. His finishing ability at the rim is impressive, with his extreme length causing problems for defenders. Also proved he can step out and shoot the ball at points in the games, knocking down a few perimeter jumpers. Should be an impact player and a steal for UNO next year.

Purvis had a great week last week, as he picked up an offer from Luther College (IA), and then proceeded to drop 37 points in a 69-65 win over St. Thomas More on Friday night. He willed his group to a win by knocking down some perimeter jumpers and showing an outstanding ability to get to the free throw line, knocking down 12 free throws on the night. He’s a plus shooter and leader that should be able to help a collegiate program somewhere next year.
Gladden has had some dominant performances at Ravenscroft so far this year, but his 41 point outburst against Episcopal School in the Jimmy V Classic may take the cake. He was named MVP for it, and its easy to see why he will be a scholarship level player. Great positional size for someone who can play on and off the ball, and can really stroke it from deep. With continued focus on improving his playmaking, he will be a name to watch at higher levels.
