Junge is a top notch player that certainly impressed. The thing that stood out to me was his strength and physicality when attacking the rim. He played so well off contact, feeling his defender and their defensive positioning. Junge was able to get to the free throw line often with this style of play. Defensively, I liked how he defended the dribble drive. Junge had 1 fist down and the other hand out, maximizing his strength and reach.

Colin Nowak
Colin Nowak
Nowak definitely stood out to me when I saw Airport play. He showed the ability to be a difference maker with his jumper, specifically from behind the arc. Nowak buried a triple from the wing, a catch and shoot 3 and even a step back 3 pointer. He had the look of more than just a shooter though. Nowak also put the ball on the floor and attacked the rim, getting to the free throw line at least twice.
This young man is extremely underrated. He set the tone for his game early with his defense. Weaver forced turnovers when picking up early and got the ball out of his man’s hands quickly making it tough to set the offense. He was extremely fast into and in transition. Weaver showed the ability to dump the ball off for an assist in the open floor as well as finish at the rim. He proved to be a versatile finisher with layups, a floater and an acrobatic finish.

Pittman was up for the challenge against one of the more talented perimeter teams in the state. I was impressed with the way he played off screens. Pittman attacked the rim off a screen and ended up going to the line when he was fouled on a jumper. He scored from multiple levels, hitting a catch and shoot triple as well as finishing at the rim with an and 1.
Gillum was fun to watch in a nice matchup with a similarly powerful player. Let’s start with his D. Like I said, Gillum had a good matchup and he held his man scoreless through the first half. I really like his ability to attack offensively from both inside and out. Gillum sees the floor very well. One of his best assets is that he’s a willing and effective passer that can deliver the ball on a kick out from the post as well as an accurate pass from the perimeter.
