Over the course of the day, I left with some strong impressions from a few players. Here’s a look at the best players I saw on Saturday.
Doyle is the best player on a Senior laden Catholic team and had a monster game on Saturday as the Knights demolished Butler to take the first game of the day. Tyler had 20 points on 8-15 shooting. He started the day with a steal and a dunk and never slowed down from there. The Bellarmine commit looks like he’s going to be a problem for the 11th region this season.
Andersen’s LCA squad fell short to a talented Ballard team in the last game of the day but it wasn’t for lack of effort on Green’s behalf. Andy had 35 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. He shot the ball well and scored at every level.
Sam was the reason that Ballard dug out of an early hole and came back to win on Saturday. At one point, Frazier went on a personal 8-0 run in about 45 seconds of game time. He was very impressive and looks like a future scholarship player. If he can learn to love the weight room, Sam has a very high ceiling.
Another player who has a high prospect ceiling, Ashton was really good in most of the game against Scott County on Saturday. Moser is a long wing who had some crafty finishes around the rim in addition to making some perimeter shots for the Mountain Lions. Like Frazier, Moser needs to love the weight room moving forward but has the potential to be a scholarship player a year from now.
