Ashton displayed a very dynamic skillset in Beaumont Westbrook’s early afternoon contest against San Antonio Wagner. In a 76-64 Bruins win, Simmons scored 20 points on 6/13 from the field and netted 7/9 from the foul stripe. Simmons also showed his ability to dish the ball to his teammates efficiently, racking up 7 assists and also pulling down 8 rebounds, almost notching a triple double. Simmons is a very smart player when it comes to leading a team down the stretch of a contest and showed why he gained several divison 1 offers over the last few years. Look for the recent TCU commit to consistently put up similar numbers throughout the course of the regular season.
Kaden Tate
Kaden Tate
Kaden showed that he can play with heart and energy in Shadow Creek’s Saturday game against ATL Pebble Brook. Using their size and athleticism, the Sharks outplayed the smaller Falcons and constantly went to the post for easy buckets to take a sizable lead throughout the main stretch of the contest. Tate used his wingspan and height to get rebounds over smaller opposing defenders, and score underneath at an efficient rate as well as knocking down a couple of mid range jumpers. Kaden displays patience on both sides of the ball and is a good vocal teammate on the defensive end. Look for his stock to rise as Shadow Creek looks to make a huge impact during this season.
J’Mar Franklin
J’Mar Franklin
Franklin has been showing lately that he is very underrated as a facilitator. J’Mar has shown great ability as a pass first point guard, but in the first game of the day on Saturday in a victory against St. Johns, he showed he can score the basketball as well when needed. J’Mar shot 7/15 from the floor and 3/7 from long range, dropping 20 points and 13 assists to notch a big time double-double to help the Panthers notch a close victory. Franklin always knows where his teammates will be on the offensive end at all times and figures out ways to get the pass to them to put points on the board. He does not let his size define him, playing very physical defense on the other end of the ball and bodying up his matchups. Look for him to be a very underrated prospect looking to make a big time impact and show why he deserves a spot at the next level.
