Continue ReadingOn Monday we released our initial Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2027 Watch List featuring 190 of the best freshmen from across the state. We do not rank prospects in the freshmen class until we’ve been able to at least see them play for their respective high school teams, so there won’t be a ranking until our next update. However, we still continue to grow the watch list over the next few months before ultimately releasing a Top 25 after the first of the year. With that being said, we will know who a few of the very best prospects are in the class and what names you’ll be hearing sooner rather than later this high school season. Between our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and other events from the summer and fall we have already started to get a grasp on these younger prospects. So, here are five power forwards in the Class of 2027 that we have enjoyed watching early on in their careers.
If there is a player that you feel deserves to be on our Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2027 Watch List PLEASE shoot me a DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR or send me an email at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com. I will make sure to add them to my database and include them in the next update of our Watch List.
***Please disregard the Position Ranking that is being listed in the player profile. We are working to remove those on the backend. All prospects are simply listed alphabetically.***
Bolden attended our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase back on August 27th and proved himself as a big body inside that can be disruptive on the defensive end and finish with a soft touch offensively. At 6’4″ he already has solid positional size to play on the block.
Highlights
Crick is a talented face-up forward that can stretch the floor out beyond the three-point arc while also possessing the size to score around the basket. The 6’4″ New Albany High School product is a very good three-point shooter that projects as a pick-and-pop, skilled 4-man.
Highlights
The physical and athletic tools are the first thing that stand our for this 6’4″ prospect from Carmel High School. Dickerson attended our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase back in late August and impressed with his finishing ability inside and relentless effort on both the offensive and defensive glass. He has a bright future within the Greyhounds program.
This 6’3″ forward from Heritage Hills High School will have a chance to find his way onto the floor for some varsity minutes sooner rather than later. Wetzel moves well for his size, displays a soft touch when finishing around the basket, and has the length to be disruptive on the defensive end of the floor.
Admittedly, Windle is probably more of a true wing than even a skilled 4-man, but being his size as a freshman gets him lumped in with the “4’s” for now. At the end of the Windle is a talented basketball player and that is what is most important. He scored it in a variety of ways at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and displayed excellent physical and athletic tools.
