Opening Week Action: New Forwards

He has some good touch with his preferred hand but is still pretty raw when it comes down to footwork and finishing with that off-hand. He's not extremely tall for a frontcourt player but he's big enough and has some good girth to his frame. Aside from just being big, he displayed good touch all around the paint and at the free throw line. But what really struck me was his IQ and ability to remain under control in all sorts of scenarios. He had numerous rebounds on both ends, extending their offensive possessions and putting a stamp on the defensive end. He also showed some poise operating around the paint, finding a nice backdoor pass for an assist. He played within himself and was able to stack positive play after positive play. A couple of threes went in early for him and then found some room to take his man off the bounce and get to the rim. He also found himself at the line a few times in the second half and really mixed his attack up well. He rebounded tough inside, was able to make some plays late in the paint and has the ability to alter some shots. And although he was able to get some good looks throughout the game, he struggled with shot consistency.
