Hidden-20 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On October 22nd I attended the<strong> Area Codes Hidden-20 </strong>at AZ Compass Prep. It was a small showcase of four teams of 9-10 on each team.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We had some youth plus some talented seniors.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were some of the standouts:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2173990' first='Ahmere' last='Carson'] Skyline Prep (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A powerfully built combo guard is a downhill attacking lefty. He is a phenomenal passer up the court and can shoot. He has volleyball line range and scores on put backs and has a tough spin move. He was the <strong>MOP</strong> of the Showcase. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1594604' first='Keyan' last='Murphy'] Centennial</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong frame wing forward shot the ball at a high level. He rattles in threes off the catch one by one. He is good in transition and if he gains some steam, he can flush it down. He defends multiple positions and is strong inside.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1598443' first='Heesung' last='An'] Canyon View</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile small forward with strength. He can hit the three off the dribble and loves getting downhill scoring thru contact. He is also extremely athletic to dunk it above the rim. He moves his feet well and uses his strength to keep his opponents in front of him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2250251' first='Ja'Shun' last='Kinnard'] Phhoenix Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A post grad guard is a knockdown shooter. He was one of the top three point shooters off the catch and is sneaky quick with the ball in his hands and is a good passer. He will move the ball and has a burst of speed to get to the basket.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2249614' first='Dennis' last='Rocha'] Skyline Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger wing who can shoot. He has deep range off the dribble or catch. He can pull-up mid-range and straight line drive to the basket. He has a strong upper body to defend in the paint and in space with his size and length. A top-100 kid in the class.   </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1595014' first='Adrien' last='Isaac Porras'] Sequoia Pathway&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The big man is a fluid post with some skill and athleticism. He runs like a forward and likes catching the alley-oops lob passes on the break. He can face up from elbow and in and rebounds at a high clip. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875722' first='Ethan' last='Ulrich'] Skyline Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A transfer by way of Cactus Shadows is ready for the challenge. He can score it with deep triples in bunches and plays above the rim on the break. He has speed in the open court and quickness to get past his defenders downhill.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1278778' first='William' last='Dixion III'] Canyon Del Oro</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long armed combo guard who is a quick twitch athlete. He is a very good defender off the ball and defending his man. He can hit the catch three when he is hot and get to the basket and spin off of the defender. He had some eye popping dunks in traffic and he is a next level athlete. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2133645' first='Razin' last='Smith Jr'] The Gregory School</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sturdy freshman with good hands and a strong base. He showed some more wrinkles to his game. He is strong inside to rebound and smartly walls up and holds his ground well. He actually stepped out and shot perimeter jumpers to the three and threw it down on the break. He bangs inside with his big mitts, strength and length.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1285501' first='Cezer' last='Sotomayor'] ALA GN</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard who played the facilitator role to a T this day. He was one of the leaders in assists with up the court passes, drive and kicks and has a next level feel to make plays. He shot the ball from the stripe and turned the corner on his defenders to score some layups.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
