There was tons of talent on the floor, high level bump and a great atmosphere throughout the event. Here’s a look at part two of the many standouts from the event.
Damon Thompson Damon Thompson 6'0" | PG John Marshall | 2024 State VA | 6’1” PG | John Marshall 2024
Thompson was fantastic leading the way for JM in their win over Woodside, as he was their primary ball handler and made plays off the bounce throughout the game. The JMU commit showed great pace as he changed speeds to get in the lane, and he showed his ability to make tough shots from multiple levels off the bounce. He picked his spots and scored it efficiently while also making plays for others as well.
Ashaun Moore | 6’4” CG | John Marshall 2024
Moore missed last year with a terrible leg injury, but now that he’s back and healthy he could be a difference maker for this JM team that will be on the national stage again this year. The 6’4” combo gives them size and athleticism in the backcourt, making him an impact player on both ends of the floor for them. He made shots at a high clip and got the rim often, while also being a playmaker defensively guarding the ball and jumping passing lanes.
Marcus Jackson Marcus Jackson 6'8" | C John Marshall | 2025 State #161 Nation VA | 6’8” PF | John Marshall 2025
Jackson is a huge addition to this JM team after a big summer that saw him jump on the scene as a high major recruit, and in a competitive and high energy environment he showed he’s all about it as he dominated on both ends of the floor. He’s a freak athlete who is a big time shot blocker and can run in transition to chase down blocks or play above the rim effortlessly. He’s improving his perimeter skillset showing the ability to knock down shots from 18 feet and out, and if he continues to become more consistent in that area he’ll be even more of a mismatch.
Aiden Argabright Aiden Argabright 6'0" | PG John Marshall | 2025 State #220 Nation VA | 6’1” PG | John Marshall 2025
Argabright is another big addition to this JM team, and he showed his all-around impact as a playmaker and a scorer throughout the game in their win over Woodside. He has a knack for making big plays whether it’s a timely steal or the way he buried two back-to-back triples to the end the half and push their lead to double digits and give them big time momentum. He was excellent in pick-and-rolls and got in the paint where he drew contact and got to the line, and he made great reads when he touched the paint to get shots for his teammates.
My’Kel Jenkins My’Kel Jenkins 6'5" | SF Woodside | 2024 State VA | 6’6” WF | Woodside 2024
Woodside was in the game for a while, and took a big blow when Jenkins hurt his leg in the third quarter after being perhaps their best player throughout the game. The 6’6” wing showed why he’s such a dangerous offensive threat, using his length and athleticism to get downhill and play above the rim bringing energy to his team while also getting to spots off the bounce and showing his ability to make shots int he midrange at a high clip. He scored the ball well from all over the floor and showed a good motor on the defensive end too.
Masaiah Stevens | 5’11” PG | Woodside 2025
Stevens wasted no time getting the energy going in the gym, as he opened the game showing his big time explosion with a huge put back slam over a post defender despite being a small guard. He didn’t slow up either, as he showed his blazing speed in transition and his great burst getting to the rim regularly, and he used his great impressive hang time to finish around the rim consistently. He scored the ball well from multiple levels, showed good defense both guarding the ball and jumping passing lanes and he competed with a chip and played through cramping and was still productive doing so.
Jordan Houston | 6’7” PF | Woodside 2027
Houston may just be a freshman, but in a hostile environment playing against two high major post prospects he showed he is ready for anything. He was extremely impressive as he didn’t back down from the physical play and actually initiated it quite a bit, and he showed great instincts moving off the ball and finding gaps to be able to catch and finish consistently in the paint. He showed great touch around the rim and even out to the elbows, he has great hands to catch tough passes and he competed on both ends rebounding and protecting the paint.
