2025 Recruiting Update

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here I will be asking some of the athletes within the 2025 class some questions about how their AAU season went, how they think their upcoming season will be, what stands out most about their game in their own eyes, plus what colleges have shown interest in them behind high school. What is your outlook on your upcoming season?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I think my summer went very well. My team and I went to California and to Las Vegas as well as a bunch of tournaments in Seattle. As for high school in the summer I did not get to play much with them in the summer league because I was gone most weekends but during the month of June, where you play with your high school we played in two tournaments. I am excited for high school season and ready to put in work. We are looking pretty solid and we just got a new coach so we are getting used to him. My goal is to just play as hard as I can, and make it as far as we can. Obviously trying to get to state and further is the goal.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I think I am a pretty solid scorer on all three levels, but I can also involve my teammates by finding them for open buckets. I think I am a strong leader. I think I am athletic and I use that well to my advantage.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-As for beyond high school I am just looking for somewhere I fit into and can help a team win.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I have not been in contact with a lot of college coaches, I attended a few camps over the summer that I feel I preformed pretty well at.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-The biggest thing I was to improve in my game is staying disciplined on defense but I want to continue to get better at every aspect of the game and just keep being the best I can be.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1850299' first='Kaden' last='Powers'] - Rainier Beach HS</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>How do you think your AAU &amp; HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I think AAU and summer league for my high school team went great picked up some offers off of the summer league and got some going back to the AAU as well. My outlook on the upcoming season is just a championship man I want a ring and I believe we gon get it with the team and chemistry we got right now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I would say my scoring i can score in many different ways and what a lot of people don't see is my passing I think I'm a very good passer as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-A great program that has trust in me and have a good relationship with the coaches and development as well getting me to the NBA.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Yes I've been in contact with Oregon state .. Arkansas has reached out , Boise state ,Pepperdine , and Washington state… and all the schools that have offered me as well. (UT Arlington, Montana, Idaho, Seattle U, U of San Fran)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I think getting to the rim more and my 3pt shooting I can and should improve on everything I feel like.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1315366' first='Lucas' last='McClendon'] - Auburn Mountainview HS</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>How do you think your AAU &amp; HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Unfortunately, I was unable to play basketball this summer. I've had to rehab an injury for around 7 months. But during the time I was out, I have been focused on lifting to bulk up a little more and mental aspects of the game. I also traveled with Big Drip Hoops (now NWDrip) and I found watching my brothers do their thing was a blessing. I learned from those experiences and still got to support them even if it wasn't on court. And as for my upcoming season, I'm looking forward to competing at my best within a new system, team, and league against a talent filled 3A division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I play with passion and energy, and I find ways to make my teammates better. I have good KYP (know your personnel) and body control. I'm able to use my body well when attacking the rim. I also have a high basketball IQ and am always pushing myself to learn more. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Honestly, I would just love the opportunity to go play at the next level. It's an experience that many kids never get, so I am open to all options. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I haven't been in contact with any coaches officially. What is your outlook on your upcoming season at BFL Prep?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The reason why i attend bfl is to be coach by really good coach and help me to get better and to be the best i can be, my outlook on this upcoming season with bfl is to win EIBC. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are some aspects of your game that stands out on the court?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Some of the aspects of my game that stands out on the court is my court vision and my shooting and my quickness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-I'm looking for a Good Environment and to play D1 basketball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What are your current offers? What other schools have you been closely talking with?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-My current offers are Monmouth, Radford, Texas A&amp;M, Detroit Mercy, and Sam Houston. Some other schools i have been close with is Saint Mary's, Lamar, Idaho state, University of Washington. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-The things i need to improve on to get to the next level is my defense just gotta pressure the ball more but i'm starting on working on that as now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
