The state’s 2025 class is possibly the deepest pool of recruits in WV history due to the development of many and continuing development of the currently established. This class features a diverse and dynamic group of players with just about anything a coach would want available in multiple players. Nonetheless, here are eight of the newest additions to the list.
Bush at #50 is a new name to the 2025 recruiting circles. His length and experience are starting to show his abilities to be on par to grade out to a future collegiate player. Bush spent the summer traveling with WV Gold 15U garnering some very valuable experience at a young age. We project him having a large role this season on one of WV’s most talented 4A teams.
Walton checks in at #49 currently and we think has a serious chance to be a quick stock riser. Why? Because he has lots of varsity experience in WV’s top division and has played with high level D1/D2 players. Walton could easily end up being Woodrow Wilson’s leading scorer with the tools he has a available as well as one of WV’s top point guards.
Janey is an interesting prospect at 48 in every way possible. Somewhat flying under the radar last year, then making a move to transfer to Poca for this junior season. He doesn’t have alot of attention as of yet but has tools available to quickly become a household name. A long and athletic 6’7″ Janey will certainly sure up that back end of Poca’s defense and gain valuable experience to propel him into position to rise in the rankings.
Highlights
Number 47 Christus has recently started showing his true value as a scorer during AAU/travel periods. Producing those scoring outbursts facing great competition in Big Shots circuit events isn’t easy, but Coleson tagged his name on a few this past summer and rose into top 50 status.
Crouch at 46 caught our attention months ago during a film study and left a lasting impression on us. A strong 6’3″ 200 lbs, Ashton pops out on film and shows his value right away. He really poses a matchup problem with his ball dexterity and raw strength with the ball. He’s no longer a best kept secret and will get every teams best defender this season, and rightfully so.
Hatfield checking in at 44 has everyone’s attention with a recent transfer from Mingo to Logan yet boasting a skill set that travels well to any program. A great combination of quickness and basketball IQ, Hatfield will surely put it on full display in front of the longtime faithful of the Logan Wildcats.
Kimble comes in at 43 and has made a splash in 2023. Playing for single A basketball stronghold Pendleton County Kimble will pace them on most nights on both ends of the floor. Solid on offense but equally effective on defense, Josiah is easy to watch on the floor and continued to get better throughout the AAU season for the WV Reign. Looking forward to seeing his progression during his junior campaign.
Pinkerton at 42 is a true point guard for the Winfield Generals and will be their floor leader for the upcoming season. Easton missed a big chunk of the AAU (Big Shots WV Reign) season due to injury but has bounced back as a real team leader would. The two-sport star (QB) will have a great opportunity ahead this season to be one of 3A’s best two way players.
