The shooting guard position in 2026 is a very talented one with players who can do multiple things well at high levels. Here are my top shooting guards for the 2026 class part II.
Mitchell is an explosive guard who loves to attack the rim whenever he can with his impressive leaping ability. He will put his head down like a running back and secure the ball tightly on his way to the rim. He can hang in the air longer than normal allowing him to do some tough finishes. He has a nice jump shot with good spacing in between and at 6’2″ can be a hybrid defender by guarding multiple positions throughout a game.
Mulcahy is a multi-tool player at the shooting guard position because of his ability to do multiple things effectively on the court. At 6’4″ he can work his way around in the paint putting a body on smaller defenders allowing for easy finishes around the rim. He has a smooth jumper in the midrange and three-point area and makes good decisions when passing to his teammates. He can crash the glass at times and can guard multiple positions on the perimeter and in the paint.
Gregory is a very versatile player with his ability to affect the game in many different ways. His driving ability is terrific as he attacks the rim with power using his elite athleticism. He has a quick jumper on the outside and is automatic in the corners. Gregory is smooth on pull-up jump shots in the midrange game as he gets good air on his shots. He will crash the glass at will and will turn into a nice two-way player because of his great defensive instincts.
Cannon is turning into a nice two-way player with his ability to defend multiple positions while being able to create his shot on the offensive end. He has a good release from downtown and does not try to force anything. He thrives mostly in catch-and-shoot situations but can put the ball on the floor in contested areas. On defense, he moves laterally well allowing him to defend anyone on the outside and inside.
Boley is a spot-up catch-and-shoot player who is patient when it comes to getting his shots as he lets the flow of the offense come to him. His release is quick and he seems to always find the open spot in any defense for the open shot. He moves extremely well without the basketball coming off of off-ball screens and cuts to the rim. Boley moves well on the perimeter when playing defense giving him the ability to force ball handlers to pick up the ball.
