Eli was at the first session of this year’s expos and impressed once again. He is one of the best shooters in the state’s 2025 class, being able to get looks off in a flash off the catch. I was even more impressed with his improved athleticism and ability to push the ball up the floor with pace. I saw him rise up for a two-handed dunk in transition and multiple tough finishes through traffic at full speed. Schroeder is in for a breakout junior season at Shakopee.

Honest Olango
Honest Olango
This was my first time seeing Honest play and he turned in one of the best performances I saw all day. He is an excellent athlete and made a ton of plays above the rim. I saw him throw down several dunks with even a couple of them coming off of alley-oops. He also showed the ability to push the ball up the floor and finish over the defense. Olango is another new piece to the Park Center puzzle after transferring in from Erie, Pennsylvania.
Camare has taken huge strides as a player since the last time I saw him play last and was one of the best scorers I saw on Saturday. He has solid size for a combo guard and was the main facilitator for his team in the game that I watched. The sophomore has a very advanced skillset for his age, as he was able to play at different speeds and get to his spots for shot attempts. He did most of his damage in the mid-range and in the paint, being able to work his way around defenders with ease.
Mekhi is such a unique prospect and reminds me of Dain Dainja when he was at Park Center. Edwards is a couple inches shorter than Dainja, but still has the ability to make the same kind of difference when he is on the floor. He has a strong 6-foot-4 frame, but can make plays with the ball in his hands when in space. He has a tight handle and has great vision which he uses to find teammates for open looks. Mekhi had at least ten assists in the game I saw and also threw down a couple strong dunks when the opportunity arose.
Justin caught fire on Saturday and needed to be accounted for at all times from well behind the three-point line. He plays a lot like his older brother Kyle in the way that he can heat up in a flash from deep. He was creating looks for himself off the dribble, as well as knocking down shots off the catch. Johnson is a very confident shooter and was letting it fly with no hesitation. He should be in for a large role this season for the Islanders as they lost a huge 2023 senior class.

Amory was a player that really impressed me at several Prep Hoops Circuit events this past spring and summer and it is looking like that success will carry right into his senior season. His combination of scoring and playmaking is rare, making him very unpredictable when he has the ball in his hands. I saw him hit his teammates with perfect full-court passes, resulting in easy fast break baskets. Peterson also showed the ability to score from all three levels.
Quincy Starling
Quincy Starling
I was not very familiar with Quincy’s game coming into Saturday, but he caught my eye with a great all-around performance in the game I saw. He made a difference on both sides of the ball, constantly flying around the floor making plays. He has quick hands defensively, as I saw him poke falls free from opposing ball handlers. Offensively, he was one of the main ball handling options for his team. He was getting downhill for finishes and kick out passes to teammates on the perimeter as well.
