Conference Commentary
Top Contenders: Thief River Falls, East Grand Forks
TRF last four starters and all four were all league honored, and two of them have moved on to college basketball. That’s a lot of spots to fill but the holdover – Caleb Rosendahl – was the point guard last year and he’s committed to Jamestown. With your all league PG returning you are always in a good spot. East Grand Forks is in a better spot to win the league and make the 8AA push. They won 14 games last year but more importantly return three all conference players and return four of their top six players.
Compete with Most: Crookston, Warroad
Crookston lost two starters but return 65 percent of their scoring including big man Hunter Nicholas. Warroad had a rougher season than we come to expect from them but that should change as some of the young players that took lumps are ready to come back and avenge the previous beatdowns. Warroad has a really good junior class.
