YUKON MILLERS: CLASS 6A
2022-23 Record: 6-18, 6A Regionals
Returning Starters: 4
With an experienced returning core and one of the best lead guards in Oklahoma, the Millers will be looking to make strides and be one of the most improved teams in Oklahoma. Dylan Snow Dylan Snow 5'10" | PG Yukon | 2024 State OK was productive in arguably the toughest conference in the state, and now after taking his game to an even higher level during AAU season, looks set for a huge senior year. The senior guard is an ideal position to elevate an experienced group and potentially turn the Millers into a Dark Horse in 6A. While it will often be a senior show, Tony Jeffries (2025) and Drew Reynolds Drew Reynolds 6'0" | SG Yukon | 2026 State OK (2026) are two non-seniors who should provide an impact. Especially from beyond the arc.
CIRCLE THE CALENDAR FOR: Bartlesville Tournament, January 4th-6th
Fresh out of winter break, the tournament will provide a cross state trip as the Millers head to north to Bartlesville. It will represent a chance to get run against potential playoff foes and simulate the need to win multiple games in multiple days. Potential opponents include tough Class 6A east side contenders Bixby and Broken Arrow, along with 5A favorite Carl Albert. Any momentum gained in Bartlesville could be huge for the Milers as they get into the meat of January and February District play.
Snow is a composed lead guard, who the only thing missing on his school resume is wins. During grassroots seasons he proved that he can deliver in clutch moments, as OKC Primetime consistently won through April, May and July. The 19 points a game he averaged last year also came with handing out 5 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds. All against some of the best teams in the vaunted Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference.
The senior plays with his head on a swivel, having that small guard knack to buy the extra split second needed to make the right pass or find that spark of daylight to get off a shot. He has sneaky burst when getting downhill, with an understanding of angles to get off shots against shot blockers. Snow has been one of the top watches for hoop heads in the state, because he simply gets how to play. Now the question headed into the final months of his high school careers, can he and his teammates start to win more consistently at the 6A level?
Jaylen Thomas
Jaylen Thomas
A newcomer to Yukon, Thomas was a double digit scorer at Putnam City last year. When watching Thomas during grassroots season, he was a strong utility player. Scrappy on the defensive end, while having good chemistry as a cutter and off the ball mover with Snow. The scoring punch he’ll provide will be nice, Thomas also profiles as a floor elevator for the Millers. Meaning that if Thomas does the little things beyond scoring, those little things will add up to victories for Yukon.
After earning starts as a freshman, the sharpshooting Reynolds will likely be on the beneficiary of assists from Snow beyond the arc. Especially as he looks proficient as a catch and shoot specialist, comfortable pulling the trigger from even a few steps beyond the arc. The question as he develops during his sophomore campaign is how much more effective off the balance and become more of a complete threat. There were good signs that he was becoming more comfortable as an attacker at the 15U AAU level, but 6A is a step up from regional 15U grassroots play.
