Gianluca De Fazio, 6’2 SG Mountain Lakes 2025
De Fazio had a strong day at the Expo as he made plays at both ends of the floor. The 6’2 guard played with confidence as he was able to get to his spot on the floor throughout the day. De Fazio finished nicely around the basket and set his feet before he shot. He made good decisions with the ball in his hands and moved his feet on defense. De Fazio’s ability to play on and off the ball is something that will help his development throughout the course of the season.
Jake Brower, 5’11 PG Johnson 2025
Brower played with consistency throughout the Expo as he came up big down the stretch. The 5’11 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and made opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. Brower moved well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He showed the potential to run the offense at times and was unselfish with the basketball. Brower’s ability to torch the nets from deep is something that will help his stock in 2023-24.
Alex Baumbach, 5’11 CG St. Anthony’s 2025
Baumbach showed the ability to play on and off the ball at the Expo, which will help his development in a big way. The 5’11 guard has a good shooting stroke as he wasted little motion and shot the ball with confidence from distance. Baumbach did more than just shoot as he also put the ball on the floor and finish around the rim. He played with poise on the ball and was able to get deflections on defense. Baumbach has the potential to have a strong junior season if he can maintain his form from the Expo into the season.
Isaiah Tufuoh, 5’11 PG Woodlands Middle 2024
Tufuoh had a big day at the Expo as he helped his team go undefeated on Saturday. The 5’11 guard used his quick first step to blow by his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim. Tufuoh showed off a nice touch in the mid-range and made plays in the lane. He worked hard on the defensive end as he made it hard for his man to get to his spot on the floor. Tufuoh is a gritty floor general whose ability to make plays at both ends of the floor is something that will help his game in 2023-24.
Marcus Garcia, 5’10 PG Queens Tech 2024
Garcia ran the offense well at the Expo as he played under control throughout the day. The 5’10 guard made good decisions with the ball in his hands and rarely turned the ball over. Garcia attacked the basket with a purpose as he finished well around the basket and did not mind drawing contact. He slid his feet on defense and showed the ability to play off the ball at times. Garcia’s ability to run the offense smoothly is something that will help his stock throughout the winter.
