Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club nearly 1500 of the states best Class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to the high school season. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 16 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo.
***With nearly 150 prospects at our event, I was able to watch 12 of the 16 teams live. Since the event, I’ve gone back to watch the other four on BallerTV in order to complete all of the player evaluations. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo!***

Shalon Robinson II Shalon Robinson II 5'6" | PG Pike | 2026 IN
This smaller point guard from Pike High School displayed crafty playmaking ability throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. Robinson II has a tight handle, does a good job of knifing his way into the paint, and was unafraid to take it at larger defenders. He did a good job of finding open teammates when he got himself into the teeth of the defense. On the defensive end, Robinson II was a pesky on-ball defender with active hands.
Gavin Lowery
Gavin Lowery
Lowery was active on both ends of the floor and more than held his own physically displaying good strength on the perimeter. The 6’0″ guard from Pike High School stood out in transition where he scored it off of a throw ahead, looked comfortable handling the ball, and flashed some athleticism getting to the rim. On the defensive end his strength helped when staying in front of bigger opponents and when crashing the glass from the wings.
Crowe had a strong summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit with OPS Latham 2026 and continued his strong offseason into the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo. The 6’1″ guard from Bishop Luers High School is very long on the perimeter which helps him be disruptive on the defensive end of the floor. Offensively, Crowe had a good offensive rebound putback, was effective in transition, and attacked closeouts consistently. He is talented with the ball in his hands and displayed good physical tools.
Highlights
Trenten Kimes
Trenten Kimes
A 6’3″ wing from Valparaiso High School, Kimes has an athletic build and was very effective on the offensive end. He drives it very hard from the perimeter, had a great finish through traffic at the rim, and used his mixture of length and strength to rebound consistently on both ends. Kimes has some real two-way potential on the wing and will attack the rim aggressively off of the bounce. Impressive showing throughout the event for Team 16.
Jack Rutherford Jack Rutherford 5'8" | PG Jeffersonville | 2026 IN
Jack Rutherford Jack Rutherford 5'8" | PG Jeffersonville | 2026 IN
Rutherford is a smaller point guard with a strong build that helps him drive the ball through contact and finish at the end of his drives. The 5’9″ Jeffersonville High School product was crafty with the ball and moved well when playing off of the ball at our event. He drives it hard in a straight line, was comfortable when leading the break in transition, and was able to hold his own as an on-ball defender out on the perimeter.
After a monster freshman season at Centerville High School (shoutout to my alma mater) that saw him average over 17 points per game, Hollendonner will look to put his name on the map moving forward and his performance at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo was a step in that direction. The 6’2″ wing is extremely strong and physical for his age which allows him to be very productive around the basket and off of the dribble. Look for Hollendonner to continue putting up some impressive numbers over the next few years in east central Indiana.
